* Z3 |. K, j+ B( M5 ?  J4 |22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
/ J* _& ^+ |$ J, Y# Q7 ?Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
" m0 W. v: }5 }' ~procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
4 L& |) S! I( A: g# w3 F, @cleanliness and order in the bar.
: x# p$ z/ W0 O4 E3 u- D
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
beverage items.
7 D# @, s2 y; S8 n
: r* d; r* h0 o# Q' b3 U2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  
bar and debit floats.

* Z  o+ z  z9 R* A& T3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
* M: g# ]! f2 ^each shift, and upon closing.

4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
- F% Y& k) y$ u* Xattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
seating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

; k8 x- ]& m8 d  J5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
7 v8 N. k3 H: y0 Z! u" M9 g2 v6 Jstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
  v" E6 J( C" W, X; b$ t$ L; ^( F" ^products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

+ x  a5 b* u1 ^% F" h6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
# u) Z5 N& }9 bhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
0 K1 v1 R, V; X6 \7 |2 Saccordance with Students' Union policies.

! V0 F5 a! Q  M2 k0 E' C' Y/ B3 D7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.
9 k  l) O/ N" v To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
2 g, f/ K; k7 F: h3 pAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

1 L* g$ C; N4 n- M" U9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
Senior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.


QUALIFICATIONS:
3 j4 H' C3 ^. G% w1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
! |0 i4 N) i8 K/ f: C7 X; goperation.
$ J  {* N- n/ P- M- y6 v; `. w
( I$ u5 a3 T. Y1 u3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
: H2 P# t6 E1 u! ]- t$ L& Baccordance with Students' Union policy.
) }' I2 @( e! |& e1 ~  F. f% y
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
attitude.


Union position
Wage: $7.73/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food
