11.5 hours a week - Hours from 2:45 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
9 a* U- L. y  M8 ZBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
& ~7 i5 V; r, @1 g1 Jcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
# T) V' n9 j$ _' U# Y4 qcustomer service and room cleanliness.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.

1 N- j: q5 H6 k7 ?1 c3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
- E7 e( p6 t/ J, k, r6 Ntotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

& I, u3 P  A$ r( Z2 y3 y) x4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
/ `) S# J/ y( ^1 b- |+ v1 rincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
5 N+ N7 f8 C/ x1 }- Q6 P7 zand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
) n4 Y" L- c8 v7 J" j4 @intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
, _" I/ ]: T/ k7 f. F6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
( y" J" W! f9 j1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
1 z3 X* _4 R, B% X
+ W' |4 ^5 J* W, u2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
9 E! V. X0 ~2 T  B" e* F6 J9 Noperation.
% r* @: K2 W7 b# C* M
3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
" w; U4 n( ~9 _& m, C8 H6 jpolicy.
' z7 n, p* g0 c6 u) I; \
. G1 t- B" j1 ~/ @4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
& Z: o9 }' `) H, h' o  q7 xcard transactions.
' q' E- T4 @$ Y& P. {" x/ t
2 W: J7 I. W2 \5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

) T7 k) r7 }6 B5 C8 @Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
