Thursdays

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
8 j9 A; \1 S& u$ v# T. |carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
. I: y( M7 a5 T$ ?# acustomer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1 W$ n: f1 R7 G% E) I* N1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
5 X2 R7 B2 F' v
: d7 p9 O1 r/ D+ J2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
4 T: W$ i) I! a& W% ahigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.
) o1 P( l. ~* ^! \. t
3 r7 F/ M" K- u, [' V3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
2 |4 ]4 j( a5 i, f( j+ r+ G8 l/ Itotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

9 Y8 f6 r# W9 Y4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
/ f' T# a" n1 Y- y4 |0 ^; ?$ pand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

1 a5 c- Z, {* C6 [9 s2 N5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
- C! w' ?4 O3 b( B5 paction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
$ e' O. |+ _) R, K3 `% P6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
. a1 {% q$ E) }Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
Manager.

! _% I: _, m4 h' h# I) u# c+ [QUALIFICATIONS;
2 L; e& _& E& t* I: h6 \1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.

- K6 y$ M" W& O8 J' y5 H2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.

3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
policy.
3 Z( a8 C' Y# A4 z$ Z
9 m/ S) C& |% `0 ~4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
2 Y. p& B# g- T8 }card transactions.

& Z: R! \3 ]# k/ M+ I, i' A( Q; p5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

+ M: H8 \7 V$ Y/ Z* k7 z6 TWage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
9 ?) W! W, R; w# d# upurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
