The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

- c4 t' S9 t1 f: R, p5 c8 HSalary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Duties include: working closely with graduate students and research
4 x7 n- [% R/ t3 t9 X. N# {. v1 Utechnicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
compounds by chromatography.

* R" I' \7 j) lQualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
: c+ f. O6 j# Q7 tChemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
! A: N; e- m6 S, rThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
/ h- G& \0 X5 }: W7 Pand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
! D5 j9 i! ]7 u/ S+ ]hope to work in these areas.
