Job description
; Y' J6 h2 V9 [& a/ B6 fStatistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
" e2 @, Z  d. b! w- M: J2 ~: Olab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
centre.
* x3 k$ Y5 I/ y) D; vThese responsibilities include:
) N' v4 X. s* w9 y) Y-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
9 @4 u8 E7 [% \0 w! Drenewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
facilities’ maintenance, etc.
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
clients’ files etc.
Statement of Qualifications
5 f( q( s" i5 ~" x9 N$ ^: fEducation:
-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
of education, training and /or experience.
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
+ B4 g. b: t/ |. h, f0 F-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
and Excel.
& g" I  ?& u; D* Z. S( i-Experience using and updating an information database.

Assets:
+ g. i7 _7 h& x-Experience in using MS Access.
-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
, n/ h. J8 H" _5 B8 m) BAbilities:
, c& N% P. s. d9 ?, K-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
5 f: o- g9 R2 N7 a* ?- O) @-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

relations.
