EDMONTON — Southgate Centre today began a $108 million expansion to accommodate more than 30 new retailers and restaurants.

" L6 v, C* R* B3 ^' I- DThe two-year project, facing 111th Street, will add 126,000 square feet of leasable space on the ground floor — and two levels of parking above.& |9 u8 j0 `! j b% z6 j: K& [

“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge.: y& l4 G( P; O5 F

It also will include hotel-quality washrooms and private sitting rooms for nursing mothers.
