9 H5 D4 k( |- Z/ G7 O- O" B) eThe two-year project, facing 111th Street, will add 126,000 square feet of leasable space on the ground floor — and two levels of parking above.

“Part of the redevelopment will include enhanced site lighting and closed-circuit TV security systems monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Southgate general manager Paul Fairbridge.( F% s, H& ?4 h% ~! Q. L; p. j; |

It also will include hotel-quality washrooms and private sitting rooms for nursing mothers.

Southgate, a 36-year-old mall located south and west of 51st Avenue and 111th Street, now has 130 stores and services. It is owned by Ivanhoe Cambridge, based in Montreal.
