俺在 PTI 打工，工厂做 trailer，主要供油田。据说生产已经排到了08年。

从俺进厂那天起，工厂就喊缺人，一直在招人。

百多人的工厂，找不到第二个中国移民，很是孤单郁闷。

如果您在找工作，可以到俺厂撞运气。工厂有“推荐朋友”活动，如果推荐一位朋友到工厂工作，满三月后，推荐人可以拿到 250 元。俺为了这 250 元才发这个帖子吗？那就算是吧。

工厂既然是做 trailer, 当然需要 trades people, 比如木工，管道工，电工等，从入门到 journeyman。工厂里有许多女工，你可以想象对体力的要求有多高。俺做工的 plumber 部门，就有两个本地小姑娘。

相对于一些华文报纸上的工作的报酬，我认为，工厂的报酬还算可以。今天读“集体合同”，入门级的 trades people, 大概是 $13/h。我认为，只要你英语还可以，就可以到工厂里打工。

工厂有喝咖啡时间，午餐时间，听工友又说又笑，俺却像聋子傻子一样凉一边，觉得很闷。不是他们“边缘化”俺，而是俺不争气，英语不行，没法加入他们。其实，工友都很热情，多次交流之后，发现不是俺听不懂，就是答非所问，也就不再逗俺，或是试图把俺加入他们的聊天阵营。

孤单郁闷的时候，就想，有个中国工友聊聊，那多好。

俺的英语，工作还能应付。工作之外的嘻笑怒骂，就不灵了。

至于工作能力，前几天，头手还很郑重的对俺说，you have done a good job, you are appreciated. 进厂才几个月，活多，用人之时，俺不负头手所望，已经做了好几个项目了。

头手对俺的评价是，肯动脑，做的好。

当然，俺怎么也大学毕业，他们最多不过高中毕业，他们的几句好话不算什么。但要知道，俺是以己之短，比他人之长。他们已经做了十几年了，有的人说本地的 apprenticeship, 四年五年的时间，猴子也能学会学好做的快。以我们几年时间的动手能力，和他们十几年的比，他们能说好，我们也应该知足了。

这句话不解,究竟是体力要求高还是不好,还有希望能把木工，管道工，电工平时要做的事情大致的给大家说一下,我相信这里感兴趣的朋友应该不少.谢谢拉

没有证书，可以从学徒做起。

借此机会更正一下。

今天又看了一遍“集体合同”，1st year apprentice 是 $13，一般 labour 第一年大概是 $9，随着工龄增长，到 8000 小时为最高，到 $18。

工厂做 trailer，跟盖房子差不多。先是木工搭框架，然后电工、水工做电、管道，最后是 finisher 装家具、门窗等。

具体工作内容，恐怕不能详述，抱歉。

至于怎么申请学徒，我只知道要到 apprenticeship board 申请登记。具体细节，我不是很清楚。

学徒做满多少小时的工，就可以去上学。上学期间，领 EI。如果考试过了，工厂报销学费。学费可是一笔不小的数目，听他们说好像要 $1000 多。

plumber 部门刚进一个小姑娘，什么也不懂。当然，她能进，不见得你也能进。只是想让大家知道，在工厂缺人之际，有没有经验，不是很重要。

If you want to apply for a job, simply go to the head office, talk to the receptionist. You can tell the reception that you know this company is hiring through a Chinese guy named Mike Wan who is working in the plumbing department.

Actually, I don't care the $250 Referrence Award. All I need is a Chinese guy who I can chat with during work time and break time.

There is a form in the office I can get and fill it up if I want to refer somebody working for this company. Only with that form, I think, I can get $250 award if you are hired and work continuously for at least three months. But, forget that form. I don't need that money. As I said, simply go to the main office and ask if there is any job opening you are interested in.

I knew Travco hiring through job bank. I emailed my resume, went to interview and got hired. It is that simple.

Nisku, an industrial park 25 km south of Edmonton.

从爱城沿 2 号高速路往南25公里。 Nisku是个工业区，区内很多工厂。许多工厂都在路边树着招聘的牌子，上面写着他们要招聘的工作职位。大都是劳工或技工。

for 2nd year, it is around $16/h.

Travco pay is much lower than the market rate. You might make more than that.

But in Travco, 1st, it is indoor construction work, you don't have to lay pipes in the snow cold winter or under the summer direct sunshine; you don't have to snake a blocked sewer line or auger a blocked W.C. 2nd, if you work 9 hours a day, your 9th hour is paid by one and half your rate. 3rd, the work is quite relaxing. You work on your pace. Nobody is pushing you. 4th, it is a union company, priority matters most. after some years of working there, you sure can get light duty works. it is a good place for me. in fact, i am thinking working there until i retire.

PTI 在爱城西头有个分公司,我认识几个人在那做的
那的工资好象比这的还高点,journeyman $24起
入门的不需要什么证书,其他条件基本差不多
有证更好
建议你也跳到城西PTI去算了,可以给你做推荐
