' R' T# D6 l7 o" A! |, r9 {/ W　　A thousand leagues of whirling snow.

2 w* M: t9 |$ [7 n7 B9 z; H9 v  |- L　　Both sides of the Great Wall

　　One single white immensity.

9 @3 t& f1 ^- c  w( Z0 u　　The Yellow River"s swift current
3 w) l4 N. T7 O2 y% g4 j& Y2 @( e
; t" t% t4 ~4 T　　Is stilled from end to end.

　　The mountains dance like silver snakes

" ]! a) ~. |+ i# W% i  a6 X　　And the highlands* charge like wax-hued elephants,

　　Vying with heaven in stature.

　　Has made countless heroes bow in homage.

; C4 n, V  e6 G3 M. m# a　　But alas! Chin Shih-huang and Han Wu-ti

　　Were lacking in literary grace,

$ _! H" _# b+ w: y" z' n　　And Tang Tai-tsung and Sung Tai-tsu

　　Had little poetry in their souls;
0 W3 O! [+ m* P# L; o　　And Genghis Khan,
* W! W5 Q+ }% G2 C1 {4 `
2 z8 ?2 Z/ E2 y8 Q0 W　　Proud Son of Heaven for a day,

# f* U8 g& B1 Z2 E0 q% j' l　　Knew only shooting eagles, bow outstretched

　　Look to this age alone.
