“Under this government, we have had the highest levels of sustained immigration in Canadian history,” he said.- N o- d2 F! u
$ _( T" s, D+ X* x" {& nUppal also defends bill C-24, legislation that allows the government to strip citizenship from dual citizens convicted of terrorism or treason. He said when someone has been convicted and served their time of a charge as serious as terrorism it’s common sense to deport them./ r" P/ u- M) C+ B
“If we can have their citizenship stripped, because they’re a dual citizen, than I would rather not have them in this country,” he said.

“If you deport a terrorist to another country, where there may not be any rule of law, where they can create havoc in that country, how does that make the world a safe place?”

“People are really, really under fear and they want to see these changes,” he said.
