反对C24的都是有双重国籍的人,如台港,印度,欧美来的加拿大人。 对大陆来的只有一个国籍的人如果也反对的话, 那么只能说他喜欢自虐。

Conservative candidate Tim Uppal said his party has an excellent record on welcoming newcomers.& T( X, s9 O( N" m$ o, V
' C! l" U; ]/ o“Under this government, we have had the highest levels of sustained immigration in Canadian history,” he said.

! @, m+ Q7 p& T- `' e ?, [Uppal also defends bill C-24, legislation that allows the government to strip citizenship from dual citizens convicted of terrorism or treason. He said when someone has been convicted and served their time of a charge as serious as terrorism it’s common sense to deport them.0 m- m2 ]: m% @
“If we can have their citizenship stripped, because they’re a dual citizen, than I would rather not have them in this country,” he said.

Liberal candidate Amarjeet Sohi said the Conservative bill is discriminatory, treating Canadians with dual citizenship as unequal.- V4 R2 }9 w2 @
“It will not make us safe,” he said. “Every Canadian should be treated the same, you can’t have different punishments for the same crime.”
' v* B! g4 G- iSohi said he would prefer convicted terrorist stay within the reach of Canadian law.+ @% B" t) M. n' x
“If you deport a terrorist to another country, where there may not be any rule of law, where they can create havoc in that country, how does that make the world a safe place?”, s" C: p( ~9 g, P ^
NDP candidate Jasvir Deol said the bill has many immigrant communities worried.: j3 ]$ ]+ J/ }& E0 ?
“People are really, really under fear and they want to see these changes,” he said. q' r( h3 h& R# u' i, K c

“The NDP has a very firm stand. We opposed the changes and we voted against C-24. If we win the election, we will repeal C-24.” |
