. r/ b4 v( B" i+ z) Z1 @2 oImmigrant women and their families can now access a “household toolkit” crafted by a local service group for new immigrant families, through real estate agents.

. O5 U4 n% } D( a- ^& eIn the tool kit are 75 common hand tools – like a hammer and screwdriver – as well a book on how to buy a home, a home maintenance schedule and other items.

“The tools are a symbol of hope for people trying to build new lives in Edmonton,” said Madeline Sarafinchan, president of the Edmonton Real Estate Board.

, {5 R4 n0 t8 u! X" YJosephine Pallard, the group’s executive director, said Alberta’s economic boom has caused a housing shortage that makes it more difficult for immigrants to find a place to live and integrate into Canadian society.
