How the Tax Credit Works

You could receive up to a maximum of $1,919 for your family for the twelve month period beginning July 2013. The maximum amounts (as of July 1, 2013) are as follows:

一年发2次。报税后，税表上会写的。收入在一个范围内的都可以拿到。每年7月和次年1月打到账上。

The tax credit is calculated at a rate of eight per cent of family working income above $2,760 up to the maximum amount.  It is reduced by four per cent of family net income over $35,525.  To qualify, your family net income for the previous calendar year would have to be less than $53,725 for families with one child, $70,275 for families with two children, $80,200 for families with three children, and $83,500 for families with four or more children.  In July of each year, the maximum credit amounts are indexed to inflation.  This ensures that the value of the credit is not eroded over time.
