Drilling Engineer

Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.6 u6 e/ W5 O1 l9 } w' W

Must be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck . S6 S! v8 o7 G) p. w) D/ |2 j! p
For each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria
% R6 p8 ?0 P0 x& P4 `* r. HPrepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation 4 t& ^$ _% D; }4 ^( Z E
Steward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews
8 L; K+ W1 k% K8 W: b, MPrepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement
! i1 T& B" Y: I' o( aPrepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations # d* d, }# d4 N0 z" s# [4 t
Stays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology / G% H9 U* w( S1 a! Q
Prepare management of change for drilling programs as needed
! K8 N! g: Z# ~' o; DCommunicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks' k: ?8 {8 E2 @8 u/ K5 c U# [* W
Mentor junior staff
. F7 }* h' @& V0 U! EParticipate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology0 y' h: ]& ]: T' q2 L! Z

! G2 R+ U6 }# T5 X5 y$ J* u: [The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA

Service company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred
