Job Description

Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker( S6 P1 w! r5 g% R% k
Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)
6 Q1 ]6 K, \4 R) JAnticipated Start Date: The candidate is required to work immediately

% h& [" \, [3 B5 APosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
. G( t1 F8 E5 T4 ?•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST& K6 Y) @  j' T1 ~" j8 C3 H
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately& A4 n4 z1 [* S: {: d
•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
/ C8 S' t/ s  g•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents& B1 K& w/ a0 o4 A3 G' C  Y1 q
•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
/ o1 b5 y! o- u# g& P# b9 A- s•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events5 ~# w# y7 |2 @! s3 l! Z$ t
•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
! y1 }7 w+ x0 v2 x8 t" |, I  E6 Q•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean
& D9 m  T2 O/ |( m( i$ b•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
# S* k- s3 S' Q7 p# f! |•        Maintain front counter service files

•        Report to ISP Program Manager* C# H* q/ H0 I6 V) Z

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:  g" A0 u* m* F, Q' c8 B: Y  a+ {
•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person0 s$ H& `7 C" ]; ~: g
•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
) D) p: Q. K) i5 G! N! M' X" W•        Good English writing and oral communication skills
0 h' E# C( X7 b5 \•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients1 K7 r! k: s! W
•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook7 C: x6 ?$ ?& ^' B
•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
2 q! |2 @+ F9 g. G1 C; r•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

•        Knowledge of immigrant services

Qualifications:/ |4 L) S2 O# t( h9 z* {2 |
•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience $ j& ]& j& ]* d+ d
•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
9 H1 f! t2 m1 s% i% H8 l# L•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
% V. y6 N- M' X•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision
