. L% ~7 Y) F( W) [# ETo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 5 i3 q _3 c; V
0 ]3 _; k* x0 o! j9 T! EThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)! ?0 Q, P. T- a

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;- ~$ }9 a( t3 \
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;: P6 L* q" c3 ]+ T$ d* F2 D! m
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;( A6 |& W! i! w3 w# R( }7 T
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; 6 J# m0 I( ]4 Y& _; |; [. g% z, ^" d
• Risk Management and succession planning;# k5 P: T# \- b. |- j9 @) E$ s

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
* O4 j) K( i1 N• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
$ s0 J) m( u) i6 U. J) i& `1 [• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
) y6 }1 R6 C# K+ k; f1 u• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;) l7 `. x; P- U: y2 o' X$ G
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
0 K! ?8 j5 u4 v: l( h4 ^• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;; Q' o+ _4 R/ [7 F9 N) F5 f" z! L
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
* b+ h* R+ c1 l8 I$ r; L0 B• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
0 x2 @& Y5 [8 z G• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:, w, f" ]% w3 N! \6 w4 t6 r
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
4 V i0 E2 C" N0 Y• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;) L; P8 C( A: Q) B
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; ( Z. c" w& T: D! T
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
1 `) \8 T1 u$ T* X9 r' s6 ?' Q" ]9 Y• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
% s. A4 W- P$ b9 S) U• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;; I6 I9 y8 G- L4 r) Z- j2 x1 m! H3 x
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
8 r- T5 ^1 ~! }* [• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;- [* z3 f- t4 |
• Current valid drivers license;9 }2 b( Z1 m1 J1 u( z7 E
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;# e& {9 I, \7 J; K
• Conflict resolution skills;3 w# z; g- c% O
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries; E; R3 T% C$ N. K, `* |, \
• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
