To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

; A* ~$ n# t' p- C& ` {This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

* u( a& B; E+ D& {- _( {7 \• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
& x! w7 V) @5 @+ t: Z* o* N• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;

• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; " y& J; d# W3 \3 R- V* B* ~
• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: , M s) B; K9 s! H
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;* U: ]8 C, q3 x- U8 q
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;5 i: u. j. a5 d3 A2 a! ^* c
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
; `$ `# ]! ~6 A+ n; Y; `2 H• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
9 u# l4 v3 p6 M0 ]" |2 _/ R• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;& B; S; ?) q9 r6 T- J# h( _
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;: Y- l2 D z5 _, H* ]! c4 x
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
* t, \3 u! d# ?! m* c• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;& P3 S7 S, M" B" e. _

Qualifications:
( Q9 B" Z; E+ A5 Z- k# v• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
3 ^ e! V7 S" r; y- q, F( a+ r• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
4 ^* x. U% i7 g% X$ X" i$ G$ C• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; 1 F5 v7 t- ^0 x- N3 z3 i
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;* r% |9 g# }8 F& t% o2 z
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.+ F1 V6 s+ S1 }$ W
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
: P, s$ T2 y' X• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
3 b! Q0 `4 `$ s% L• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;9 f" v6 _1 _9 e t9 C( K
• Current valid drivers license;9 S( v: C; O; f8 l. n3 o3 Y' w9 P1 \' [
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
/ _: F# t, ]2 T2 ` B• Conflict resolution skills;
9 w/ F" C; A3 u! g8 G• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
