To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. * `6 z+ [: b+ S; o! r) H

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)5 l' m* C! }6 c* Q
6 S6 ], T& R& D" JAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:' ?3 s1 e& d8 V0 P) R
• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
) P& M6 c# A+ c0 X! R* d) M+ q• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
. o/ F9 c3 n$ J3 y, k- U6 ?• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;* f& _- T. [( L5 q; i- Q. q
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include: ( I+ S: |; v9 y, g' ]
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;: o- d! Z2 D) `7 X& v( D
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
: F% H% k) b6 r9 Y ^• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;- y2 B0 |9 J( z" U# p7 a* D: s o. c
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities; u$ S' {1 _1 ^+ M z
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;& e' w" T8 ^5 y- L: X
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;: O! Z; U1 S& a0 f3 S
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;- C$ ?- y( C! t z, F! U# Y+ j
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;- p! e k1 t" O3 o: ^/ r
+ i; d, j# u9 B1 b" D) K" {& {Qualifications:( [, G7 U3 E( ^
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;! `+ e& y( o u* E3 t
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
/ P/ }) @& c' |9 a• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
$ h3 C) ~; @- t2 k• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
5 _" ~3 B( O) X% Z9 ^3 Y• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
+ _3 c6 }2 @; t, j$ K# E• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;& ^4 \7 [1 S: d3 N
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
% f j$ S2 l( a' _• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
: e6 K. f: `# { O) _) d# Z• Current valid drivers license;( |# ^0 [! x( Z; y
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies; r4 U4 d% x1 m6 ]* J4 V
• Conflict resolution skills;
