Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
2 j8 q4 j8 A6 O! B& {* ^6 H; f0 STo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
2 x0 Z O# v4 `! X5 Q• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
5 R7 r9 ?1 t7 w X `4 c; _3 E• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;* K v1 J: p( j7 z
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
' g% H+ n! k' Q2 Z1 o4 W• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; / Y2 r1 j4 b: b, I7 F
• Risk Management and succession planning;

9 Q* y: v$ B RProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: 4 u' H$ u& V- G2 B
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
% F% Q# |4 ]' m, \3 R• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
& m ^; f9 n, J: ]. W- P• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
4 J+ X" {+ s: j+ `2 _2 E• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
3 \. V3 V, p+ V+ m9 V7 k! U& E% Y7 T1 O• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;" \# q, V/ z: [; _4 s4 v8 Z2 K0 w
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;9 T& W% f- L8 x, M( f; ]
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;- v& R6 B' a9 p) K2 v7 u
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;7 ^7 m4 @) \( @2 x1 g
% `- a- X1 \" }6 n2 r2 E+ MQualifications:
; f- O* f" z6 ?, c0 K• Degree in communications, human services or related field;! j; x1 b# z' w+ \" U6 u
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;8 [) w9 O6 R! g" E3 X8 [
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
' _# v7 p" R4 p2 e, b• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must; X, j; E6 I0 U; t9 B( A
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
* q6 b& d+ i D* A6 _7 Y9 N6 h• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
- Y5 D, k* w3 [2 j; t; ~+ x• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
5 f$ [2 q; i! |! U( X' r• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;3 @/ T# _: r, f3 {: \$ B- a2 j5 d
• Current valid drivers license;
7 c: X2 R: g( a1 ` m• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
/ ]5 J z% x: l$ m* A$ t• Conflict resolution skills; I- ] `/ W% U$ K/ _. H$ A- p
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
