To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. + n/ } e# Q5 l' ]
/ ?8 g1 f4 G4 }$ E7 mThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)4 f. s8 ], W! l7 P

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
, A' _0 o9 ?5 I. J% ^8 M; K7 v• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;* \! V3 e0 J/ u/ L8 D
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;2 O6 X3 n6 ~, q" v L$ T
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;5 {% S* Z2 C" w6 g2 u$ f, L, d
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; * B& s E. P3 W% L z7 R
• Risk Management and succession planning;$ I5 x4 ^% ]6 m7 C' G9 a

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
! Q2 Y# F7 h: [0 h2 w& B4 ~9 z• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
3 O! {( B8 Z! E9 Y/ a9 A/ `• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;. _. d" i1 F1 R" T
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;4 A4 s- G% U T8 p9 i( l8 H6 M8 `
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
! j# t# c; N% E6 E• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;2 e6 D8 j$ @( h, ?2 `
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
" u# j( X) |/ i& q• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:
& o& V4 h8 g/ Q1 M p1 m, r% I• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
2 G$ A$ a# v B6 ?" @• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
: Z+ N. d3 Z+ U4 y P- o9 `• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
8 j# j2 N. _! k% ~9 R" _+ P5 s• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
$ e! a- ~# k/ ~$ l5 m; c+ }7 `3 ^• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.1 ~( r; z8 e" J2 R. Q2 z, }
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;' l% S5 P1 |, i6 R# W- V$ w* C
• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;$ r# ^( {& `) o! v# O. t- P- o
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;% i+ @3 h# {0 t% G* m( v
• Current valid drivers license;9 ~) v. v* b5 D: P2 n: X
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
