Key Responsibilities

" e% p0 } W' {/ d: n; c' I$ g- provide volunteers to update membership database4 M# M, ], _3 E+ }! x" d' O
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers1 @9 z8 v' l o3 a
- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
/ L- x8 J0 ?3 }$ D- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties6 }0 l, _* A* R2 t R$ [; P7 Q
- provide volunteers for various programs 4 c$ C, G" t( U1 J
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
u" C% _$ R9 j: `8 m- g9 {- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation# k8 M, I* [- i* s/ \7 L( z, d# x$ q2 g
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
8 F. `/ a: S0 \8 c, K$ r/ K- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
2 I6 q. J* O7 s- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports
: z) ~2 x2 r7 k- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed+ e% @' f! }; u4 u3 c
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
( U) [ {, Q+ `- b; |1 e! C' U2 |) v! D- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required), U3 }( u$ y/ e4 X# W
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events ; A' v4 s$ @9 y/ c; D) B4 [
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual 5 j, K5 Y- d) a3 Q3 f K
- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
4 W& ?3 V# ^2 n! e- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
6 B9 j# j; \# I: S1 d- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 8 p9 C# n' O- ^/ @9 P; J
- evaluations

7 [" ^" i' p1 y( Y; E+ rQualifications
0 p* H; c6 s' l- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education5 C: \. ^* l" H4 L4 U5 u8 U
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills6 V$ Q. T/ f: `& a
- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
9 H% o/ ]) A" ^! \- leadership skills
8 S8 Q9 @0 g2 ?! }/ ]. z$ W- management and supervision skills! t& D8 C$ b8 C; m% z6 e' m
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
