Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

- provide volunteers to update membership database
, n: M4 @8 V" D- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
- D0 m9 _7 S K" a9 N0 O- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties
7 t. |3 K3 e, V; t% F1 W% u3 J- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties$ ]* ]3 k4 I* K3 u
- provide volunteers for various programs
/ d; S# Q6 V& @: i5 E9 v* C( y$ ~- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
8 V: x2 ?5 I. m8 G- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation! y0 s7 y9 f. J
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
1 W3 K+ P) S' s* O2 }' B- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
. N- g" G0 h9 D7 }. M5 S- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports" v" c3 T/ {2 V- U* P
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
* J% r( R1 E/ c- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
) a0 A8 R, t6 R% c$ g, ^' p- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
2 H3 W4 ]5 J0 f" n- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events : W/ @: {" z' d. f: q
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
, F# A+ z* N$ ]' l: u" u6 C: t g- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
% {: Q2 x* s Q) @1 W- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers 8 C% W7 R0 @# N8 b
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 0 }; e4 H$ Q, n7 w7 ?' X
- evaluations

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education" G% P" h3 s1 a$ {. N v* L
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
9 A, p$ g# D, e! b- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services7 n, j8 ]+ d C: W. n) x" H
- leadership skills6 G4 f6 J6 h! F
