Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. . • Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person5 o9 `: m; w" R4 l- R' S- C
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
9 y: y; p) G1 P! \# C3 P3 ?! v• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately; e) E* E! n; z' I& T0 c+ b
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
' m5 l* N1 m8 h• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents& R; r1 @+ h( _% t
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker6 ~0 h0 D( Y' q! J9 ~3 G
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events, g) f8 C; b9 P
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events5 X7 d1 F1 T6 W0 e
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
% u- t1 d0 T, \/ s( _% m/ A2 j- k• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
% U5 [5 E: \5 Z9 K• Maintain front counter service files

9 p+ x% U$ F/ @9 z: M• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
' ^: C3 N' T$ u) M$ v: b8 y• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset5 f6 M: w5 u& Q/ T6 k
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
@' w: M% {3 Y' k y c4 a• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients H% g$ C+ k n8 G X
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook/ o) h4 u) d( e! d; I
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately 4 |: [: }; ?# {0 x0 J
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds r, p- l8 m+ ~( |6 t# _( b+ C
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:5 Q$ F3 n0 I( j% n0 ^: o0 h# x
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience : s o0 p& l1 L, U( \
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment) q; N& _& Z$ j0 P
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
8 K* D1 z- F2 U; A• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
