megapixels, the D800 produces unprecedented image quality and resolution
! m6 C7 Z8 W; Owithin a body that boasts revolutionary technological advances. The 3D color
: E9 F# p1 ~8 `* m3 Umatrix metering III, wide dynamic range and the improved AF performance/ C3 @6 ]( y4 d, i& V6 U
in low light are just a few features that are glaring improvements. The D800
+ y9 d6 m3 j# S7 v/ F1 xallows me to concentrate on the light, the composition and my subject
- J* A& b3 e. i Lwithout having to think about much else. In years past, wedding photography% K; ]4 u( o1 L1 V+ h
was traditionally captured with medium-format equipment for maximum- t$ f$ N9 E: X* f/ M/ r
image quality. When the 35mm format was adopted within the genre, it was

* v* d8 k0 \& w6 l3 b6 D* U- n: gbefore, and my style of shooting will be enhanced rather than compromised,

Autofocus quickly tracks models in motion. Nikon’s 91K-pixel RGB sensor

easier to read. The camera body feels solid and ergonomically simple, while
4 q7 O7 R# P) [+ q3 B' ~6 Nalso feeling lighter and smaller than previous high-resolution Nikons. New- `/ [' S- s9 _1 v5 P1 \
cameras always inspire me to test and explore, and all the useful features) q9 s+ ]4 E' F9 x
in such a compact package will open huge creative possibilities for my highquality

To me, cameras are more like paintbrushes than technology. The goal is
$ x; D3 y2 K8 _' m% i# K$ {4 O1 Z1 xnot megapixels or technique but the image, and while camera models5 n1 h; I$ P5 z/ ?! U) X& U
are important, they are not the be-all or end-all. But after a lifetime using) s4 b `1 V3 i2 W
countless cameras, I have found a new best friend. It was not love at first
6 W" w9 C6 U. f8 |- U" M2 ^ o5 p. Rsight. The sharpness and detail were initially intimidating, exposing my flaws
, A, K; f, t/ E: olike never before. Subtle camera movements showed and differences of
& _ f0 Q4 g& h y3 n7 Y' W& ?acuity between aperture choices on various lenses were apparent. But now I1 m% s7 k4 E$ j
am enthralled with this technology. Why? Because the images almost feel as" G: k; @5 f) T' S$ d
though they were made with a 4x5 view camera! Special features like timelapse
0 l/ y5 @2 j5 z' ephotography and the improved HD video quality and flexibility also add
8 e2 L4 L+ `, Y: P8 xtremendously to the camera’s personality. After spending a month with the2 V/ x* Q2 [, r: B! U/ P+ Z; \& v
D800, I’ll never be the same again. Perhaps the best compliment I can express5 k* G! Q9 r6 y4 }' m0 x5 A: `
is that now I will think differently about the images I make.. B/ e. p' i1 x) I" p, w* f! X
As a modern architectural photographer I am always looking for a lightweight,
( w! b# X# p* q. \compact and reliable camera system fulfilling the requirements of my personal' r5 K/ k2 z$ L! e# b: P' y" c
artistic and client expectations. The Nikon D800 will set new standards for% A: V3 ]! r; F2 Y2 J. P

now. Particularly, the live view mode enables extremely precise compositions

quality lenses such as the PC NIKKOR tilt & shift lineup are indispensable for* N; ]5 U2 Y# \- [4 ?' N
architectural photography. From my hands-on experience I found that they+ u4 b# A9 |; i- E
perfectly match with the newly invented system and produce breathtakingly% N8 R% C9 _0 R6 ^
clean, clear and sharp files. This camera gives me the photographic flexibility. N, ]1 v) P, g; O! L4 \. W
to work at unusual shooting locations and capture images in an exceptional7 r4 H$ i% W i2 k7 C% T5 Q
range of light. It definitely takes my photographic versatility and image quality
