In general, key aspects of the role are:
! \1 {5 g6 J7 c+ q3 O& b7 B! s-        Help define technical architecture and develop strategies for incorporating new
technology;
-        Identify where new technology can be used to meet business needs;
-        Review requirement and design documents to ensure follow department standards;
2 V  I6 O+ p5 V9 X' v8 H5 u: z-        Participate in peer reviews;
" h; |  W' Z! z$ G! g-        Create and Maintain technical documentation;
-        Programming planned enhancements;
3 D% R9 ~) [- V& n$ D* `-        Testing system changes;
-        Ensuring changes to the application meet the department standards and follow the
9 B5 l9 x1 w! O$ {department’s change management processes;
-        Providing Microsoft SQL database support for improving application performance;
-        Very good technical skills to respond to problems from other developers;
-        Providing on call support after regular business hours as required;

% M9 p$ d3 J# \4 j/ s-        Effective presentation skills are required to communicate solutions;
- b+ c; K6 R* m9 g-        Excellent written communication skills;
-        Knowledge of the Systems Development methodology is required to ensure

-        Understanding of project management.

(a) Experience defining technical architecture and developing strategies
  Q- U2 @8 t8 w, u( k9 Qfor incorporating new technology.

' E+ R! u7 r/ f(b)        Experience developing multi-user/ n-tier/ Object Oriented applications using C#.net. (Maximum of two years of VB.net or JAVA experience will be considered as equivalent)

/ X9 @+ c; E! q3 i+ [( O) n(c)        Experience developing SQL objects for an MS SQL Server. (Maximum of two years of Oracle experience will be considered as equivalent).

* x0 {' F( E  F3 H: j3 R/ t8 X7 m% t(d) Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation with formal change management procedures.
' H8 w+ j( T6 Z; q1 f0 K7 ]) I* I, E4 X7 M
5 q6 G" ^0 M# A+ {7 G8 a; N; g(e) Experience working in an environment with a team of 3 or more developers

(f) Experience reviewing Requirement and Design documentation for quality to ensure application standards are being met. Creating and working with design documents/user requirements (software artifacts).

B. Desirable Requirements
(g) Project experience with formal development methodology.

(h) Experience with one or more of the following tools:
- Infragistics controls
- IBatis.NET, or MyBatis.NET

- Pdflib
- Microsoft Project Portfolio Server

3 `" t, b; g* I; E(i)        A minimum of 6 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and\or experience is preferred. Combined education and experience:
- A related University degree and 2 years experience; or
- A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 4 years experience; or
. c  v4 ^6 B' b; A' m0 W8 h; f8 O- A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 5 years experience.
