3 B0 b: L5 B% w6 l- K• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
; b4 e) s- s" s4 i1 p4 `• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components |8 w# t4 b/ X" J
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers6 k2 B1 d- k7 I6 e( b7 l
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams* a0 ~- M! ^1 M; O4 V
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place( ]" z7 {6 Z2 a
• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment5 w. A$ S' H" D1 O6 ^' n" o' ]
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
i1 B4 F; P& j* l: H! V• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
& D- a7 e/ O; ^5 B* e• Mix paint, blend and match colors7 x* D* L% _. D4 \1 q q1 P
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns- j5 X7 W9 v! I1 M+ x3 ~& R) h* Z1 Z1 u
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs1 [6 R) a# r; q! I
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation" x+ T1 l! ?2 X, v6 A
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling( ~% V8 ~3 X5 F% s/ Q
Education and Experience Requirements:
) }: e. f7 m, p• Completion of secondary school is required* ]+ N0 ^& u+ F
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program

A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade $ t9 t' L5 d- ^: ^4 s
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory
