• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed6 j' P* @! M6 ]! H; Y' |
• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
+ J$ t' I ~) `6 d$ X' E• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
5 x! \: X, @' n+ S0 p• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
& ]" b, Y" c7 x; n5 J* |1 Q• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
1 G; _# s5 V ^$ k5 h. J% U• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
' S+ v$ R# q( @3 i0 M5 O• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
3 k) o& V. b9 ] N+ N% Z• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
9 D. A) e& O" t# L• Mix paint, blend and match colors
. a6 h6 ~4 i) n0 D, a• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns* i' |; e, L( q+ f4 T
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs7 m9 y# p( f& m1 f0 {& u
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:5 X5 B' V% x( [8 [: x
• Completion of secondary school is required
8 c8 D; d& n" O8 P0 o• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program / }: Z# g/ `* y
or7 ]1 M7 g; Z Z. p6 X
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade
' p$ l& i% N `• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 6 ^ y5 x, o( x: K- q$ M2 O
