Job Description:
' p+ A! z7 A9 Z9 ]: W% V: y1 D• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
. ^/ o0 n0 e- F p& h0 g• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components4 z( a, a, D( b( q2 }
• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
3 D- N0 Z" \ v• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
0 k0 \! t3 r x) @; x• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
0 N: M* k, O! m$ G• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment% x/ ^" G5 x2 e6 |
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
0 Z2 k; ?8 ]4 U( Y% t$ G6 K' K• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting& V8 Y* _: t. V( q
• Mix paint, blend and match colors) D0 g* y. V. s- J1 n; m
• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
/ ]# }2 z# `1 C- g5 H2 W• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
- Y \, G! ?. ]2 c• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:: _( }0 v X. Z
• Completion of secondary school is required
9 F: {) U! G1 U( _6 h5 L• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
8 R% n$ @7 I) ]& Uor, c, y. f: v9 F2 C, Z' K
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade ( P2 K8 y6 i6 S1 d
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory ( P8 o3 W$ s. H
