• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
9 Z1 d+ d% d1 ~$ Y; x# j- z• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
7 j j {7 b" f$ {2 N• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers' b" n7 M; U+ U, ~' C" ^/ ?" a
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams% @5 E7 O# A8 R: f
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
P3 {# [1 r0 c, ^- {8 F* Y• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment( d) g5 O1 ]- B- t
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
q. U+ z" ~! \• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
+ B' A( j( r% w6 \, w8 B• Mix paint, blend and match colors
! B3 e# y+ J u4 j; W• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns* Y0 o1 Z# O; |
• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs: H. g: h/ X0 Q% L6 ]: k$ N2 G
• Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

Education and Experience Requirements:
/ w% \9 @; j* o' O( @+ d* H2 [• Completion of secondary school is required/ l1 }5 O: P" M& d2 s
• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program $ D' N) z" ]& X, K3 B3 V U
or+ q8 a1 p/ F A- r! V
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade : e4 l" L6 w U6 ^# @, Z9 o% v% a$ d) J
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 1 M5 X, G; n. f0 j
