YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. ! T/ @& c: T2 k/ L9 S6 E }
Job Responsibilities:! C% x+ U7 ~ n+ F9 Q. v

0 U1 C2 ]2 U$ L! X2 L• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired2 R3 e) |+ }; m5 d' a
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll9 _. a9 k9 a! U" o2 B& D
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ' [3 [! m( O/ k; M T
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

- m. v3 v3 s" J( w8 lReporting duties:
; q3 ^4 W7 t2 f. {% ^- r" s3 c• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider7 X+ Q) Q8 @% d, K+ V' g @4 r
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website1 E+ c y5 f$ i2 ]! Z
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s$ R6 c8 e! v: y* ]$ } p
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority' n" U6 ^) d/ y9 H2 y- _
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations( I+ c* `4 x! k

Compliance:
+ ^" ~$ V% v) B( s f: U1 `• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 0 g3 [: E$ W$ n
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
/ j! W& M: x+ L) s1 {4 |• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies4 m U" f U/ d6 w) q% b; j$ g
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting1 N' S: b, |3 t: _; E0 @0 ?
! K7 F Q) s' L4 jAccounts Receivable:* P7 y2 @. W8 F+ \ w# s2 D* R
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit `, X, Z- _- N: ^
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
' D- |4 m, T6 k7 m' @" V• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
4 S. A( O3 _4 K( X$ {' z! p, z• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:
, a, u# C- Q5 p+ _6 X2 o* `* C T+ I( q
• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP- i5 s1 B- u8 L, U' h
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association: o A6 J( [" ^+ z2 X$ f- a& m
• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
5 x+ d7 h+ I5 Y1 R% e# X$ a2 Z• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office! ~+ s+ E+ M8 }6 k* {, L7 Q0 m1 x
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work# B& r+ d! Y, z6 ?, F$ T% d
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
