Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:
2 R1 s! b4 ?5 m6 e" m• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired
' z ?) }# L9 p+ l; {$ h% r• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll" {8 n( P% w# F7 z
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 8 A0 B0 |( @9 H% x
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

+ E$ F- S; H& j( }+ \/ vReporting duties:
" l$ A W/ G! }1 {• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider6 H9 c% w1 H: j$ k& U; a4 x# @
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
0 S/ y% i- W% B2 S) g• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s8 ]& s& l" b4 o ?$ q
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
$ G/ e" X" R4 j! s1 R( s• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.( Z/ E$ B0 p5 X9 [0 L/ K8 T
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies3 ?/ ~) {+ g, V1 ?
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting, R; W! Z1 L* O/ E0 j. n& Y/ z

Accounts Receivable:5 \1 a2 D2 O3 x1 W
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit
2 n" {( i) }) m6 x: d• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department' C( ?/ @8 s' R1 q
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments* U( l" t8 I3 ^9 ?3 r) X& V' ?
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
9 N* V8 i' e- ?, I• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
2 P$ L$ ?% {+ S8 R' e2 D$ ^• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position% I* t; K: O7 S: Z+ A6 I
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
; }/ l7 c- i" M• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work6 f, m1 h0 x" p2 y0 F2 o" ]6 Z1 X
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure/ ^5 {2 A N: ]5 D* ~
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures
