YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. 1 l+ |) ]# g1 u: m6 c
Job Responsibilities:

Payroll:1 i7 i m3 z. J l9 f6 }# ^3 H: l: y
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired- u5 d: I" t% c: J, \: P
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll. g! F! @# b8 C* k
• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records ! f6 a( e3 x; M3 ~8 P; V- L, L
• Input benefit deductions into payroll

Reporting duties:/ ~- B7 Z8 y" U M* `9 B
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider
8 s5 o" X5 z3 H5 [2 L• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website) b: t+ g. x! C3 q) V& L4 X
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s5 t8 i( |6 J7 q+ L0 A# i
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority1 Y. N2 |9 a; M+ R' }9 F
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations+ _6 E3 K: S$ E& T6 T
& d5 S9 x& H0 ZCompliance:( d# _1 R- K( `/ {2 Q
• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll " u9 J! V v" ~. n6 o. I/ U
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
: w0 e* P+ R$ _+ s• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
! | z8 |3 j% D0 e• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting# `1 E$ f8 [+ y- [0 y
- o* t! N0 q% m+ X# CAccounts Receivable:
8 s" S# c4 b; E& O; r; f# b• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit( q) Y- c% v( f% I- l' B# V/ y
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department9 F( [, Y5 p# c @4 a+ c% k
• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments" p$ K" u* v# m$ e
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:
2 }, \ T; t: k& o0 ]6 N+ N8 L* Z
6 O" X! K' X0 x- n7 O• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
Y" W# K+ T- J# X0 m% f• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
* d$ h& j. e" \+ e' f1 c• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position% k% f3 _0 F, I* `" O% H# C
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office u+ t8 O# }2 c* T: j
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
; L2 Q( V- d$ J! F8 B• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
