YWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties. ; g/ Q; a# @ W" |
Job Responsibilities:

; N+ X( t; z* J6 A1 x) L8 P7 x. YPayroll:
* E! R2 Y0 z) X9 `5 s# E• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired; o' R; ?/ K! ]
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
( g( Y1 w! z3 V/ |6 U• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records 4 l7 K" h5 z) R1 U n Q1 b9 ^
• Input benefit deductions into payroll) ^4 D# P3 i; Z* G- V( D, N, W
# I; V6 ~4 l6 ^7 d. f* L
Reporting duties:
5 N' O( i& G2 r9 a# d, p• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider! h( N2 X/ t* I' x
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website
. @! x- ^% Z( O" x; ^* a• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s6 W) r: Q) o! `3 }
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority* Z( R- Q+ E4 e% L! W. T
• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations, q$ s: k8 T3 K) V5 `
( U* @' E% x6 E* M0 K, O& R
Compliance:
) ]+ n: R1 G( j7 _• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll 8 f$ a- G0 [2 S) G
• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
/ y V" E$ l1 h* {# Y• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies2 B9 w9 C0 } A+ w. Y' X
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting

Accounts Receivable:
7 q8 A, ^, ]% E: Y+ [• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit# S- p5 v) ~9 V* Y6 K
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
( e; Q8 M9 U6 {- _: N+ H7 H/ w* h• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments5 s$ t3 I& X+ m K" v, x p
• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing! W. z& Z6 R. `( z3 N' k

2 S4 E. L' z: J7 l+ a8 [+ k• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP$ c- }/ q a% X3 h$ g
• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
' {" H. C, S. k' u$ b0 }4 I• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position
6 B, n1 y* ?2 V. `" i• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office1 B6 A1 J1 ]7 \8 {) M! `
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work6 t* R0 @& s) m4 I i; N3 R/ |- S
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
