" W. A" D/ v3 K" AYWCA Edmonton has an opportunity for a permanent Payroll Administrator position. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the processing the YWCA payroll, accounts receivables, and other finance related duties.

: o6 |6 p3 t9 g0 K* V' N3 f6 ~• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired: o$ ^6 A, J) ~% e) X
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
. `2 k0 c+ p: u0 T4 e) E• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records
, P/ _8 R# [ ~$ [+ e) ]• Input benefit deductions into payroll

. D1 U& t. m' ~0 L1 t) `Reporting duties:
( E v+ D& c; j2 ~) E• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider: u% s* \" {) b3 w+ s. o- o1 e7 M
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website! y$ H2 f# Z: ]1 `) d" Y2 j3 I
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s8 i# M% {# y% i; y
• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority
" Z# O: N3 ^" s0 [4 H7 A• Complete employee records of employment and salary confirmations

# n% e3 s7 ~% I3 Z• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
' ?0 } H2 }9 [+ h, E6 W• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.. j5 n; {/ i' h7 N/ v4 d
• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies
2 M* L2 T2 Z2 G0 ^ a! V• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting8 v$ L' ~: s5 H0 }0 w# ?, }9 E z

Accounts Receivable: m8 h) H7 b0 C8 ^
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit% r9 s. t# E2 k f: Q6 f
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
# R3 @, D' Q: n d# L& k• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
# J+ s" j! N& x& s• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing

Qualifications:/ s# m' \# q" _9 u" M
9 D- r4 E& {9 X& {1 e/ }, C- y• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
V* p3 @7 u& X+ M% ]5 Y6 a" O• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
6 z* Y6 c; N* h4 w) D) i• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position: F+ v% n- O/ S( p' ^9 t
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
8 F7 k" i7 ], E8 J• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work4 Z$ i, m6 U* {3 r2 K- H# D. x
• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure1 [2 s6 u7 A; C; e
• Knowledge and experience of cash handling procedures. b2 q( Q/ ] V5 R: [" P
