SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ; Q; e R# x0 i/ `
SEDI is staffed to:
% s7 r/ |8 i# {/ [) I$ Z( b• conduct socio-economic market and policy research 7 K1 }. ~% c. j' K$ k
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
# M; [3 k9 h9 X! k! n• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation ) ]) a( Z5 A. N# C
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
/ n4 q" o" u4 V" n+ P ]• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
$ i1 {7 k! g' m6 |• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 2 D0 e% |/ u% R, b6 ?% B5 u
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
' H- F: C9 P$ F( o; ]Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
$ F9 @3 A$ H* F* P• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada " K4 w! }0 G3 V4 s \/ T& G' |
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
4 F; N( D6 w/ @• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required : r7 P3 C& N1 U' ^1 n
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities / {: H: `9 F9 }0 j1 N
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team ) `! t/ H, k) O! m4 S$ B$ r
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
4 a3 M( t3 E& B1 EOther Activities: \5 a: s" r1 B0 c+ N; \0 b% A
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
3 H" `7 m$ J- m# \0 k/ q& _. V• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners 9 |. R: ]& }* q
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
$ Z! b0 q$ W9 m• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports

Primary Qualifications:
( u) E, \, j, E m7 _• Demonstrated group facilitation experience - |0 ^( b, A b2 u9 X% n
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
# y* J* N8 H1 {7 B1 I) ]• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
, T4 | ^, E7 L( u. H D' z• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 5 c) M; J# \5 M6 X7 C" P
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
2 E' Q* S1 l9 c6 E4 e• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them - J& u1 {3 d% T, ?
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc " ^5 ~& K, z T8 i6 l0 b& M
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Excellent organizational skills - S3 B1 `7 v4 B/ O f( \- u
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. V6 D# f( h5 n
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

• Marketing and communication experience an asset ! f4 ]" N8 O1 p- J% H
