SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. & A) m/ W" k; i1 d8 t; C
SEDI is staffed to: $ C9 M6 ?: Z( w1 K/ y
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
/ k3 x/ \% i& c/ W7 w& }9 C- B• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners : V) p8 G* c# A; |! }' O
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation $ C, y: q* j# u4 f7 C$ Z0 _! o5 u/ d
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
" V5 ^5 V: J; g+ Y D• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits ; d# }7 D0 N0 k9 ]* ~; }
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 5 I" ]& r4 e" Y5 r
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada 6 i ?# N* z3 N6 }1 V
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
0 z: m* _5 x, j7 M9 X" X! v• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada - M) h' y8 l' Y
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ; K6 E3 X' N- A- l' l6 x
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
$ r! N/ g9 b7 A& b! u' q) G( G. d• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
/ V6 Y- v2 [; s7 b+ L( S9 Y- U• Working with evaluation and management information systems team 3 ~% l/ E% j6 e( v. r2 L) n
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 2 P5 z6 x4 @; W
Other Activities: b: I; ?- A$ u8 f- h/ H& T
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 3 t/ L2 O7 ]1 w! }* l: Q, U9 _3 p
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
1 L1 K* \4 L' m' ?: Y: P• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
; ]. _3 X. J0 k• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 6 F' Z" P X0 X9 w# ^1 a" n" d& e
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning * {7 {, G' n! N3 S; M
Primary Qualifications:
4 d- Y5 \0 B8 U3 {( j• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 2 e, A2 g Y* v( v
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
|) N% z1 @& v: U$ z" d( S0 s• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
. \$ \. W1 X) u- _. A2 h• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities 9 W3 [1 K" r( \3 \
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams ( J% Z% ~7 r3 f' B3 d* p g
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals ) l) ]) P+ k$ C/ ?+ m* n0 R9 k* _5 [
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts 8 x1 ~! k; c; B8 s5 I. \
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
9 Y2 ]2 O7 _8 \0 H8 F7 h• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
( r8 x$ j& f( d% h; W9 ?0 U9 ?/ x4 J• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners ; c3 W/ N5 e2 r. G
• Excellent organizational skills

• Policy research skill set is an asset & H- b8 c/ u3 z1 C. _) E" S
• Marketing and communication experience an asset
