In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
( Z7 y% [' J% C* dSEDI is staffed to: 9 t9 L4 v* }' U7 E# {' B; W
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
4 U1 D M) ?5 O: Z# x• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 0 \8 H2 W' L7 L5 Y
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation : g! Z% u. [; g2 ]* X* X3 V1 O
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
$ l N$ X' i- F# o& d• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
$ R* \* v# O/ N9 B, d• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 0 b" f2 u3 y1 r/ O3 I6 I
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
D; K2 U0 ? _+ l* Z8 h/ {5 q• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) ! K$ C) `8 L; |- E- U, f* K
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required : m' c5 L) b' B: |/ H. G& m
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities $ r* }( b/ V- L5 Z
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team : G9 O' f: Y3 L& m9 o' u! {
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required ) r8 b0 \2 M. n& Z7 `
Other Activities:
+ j3 y( @) X: t0 ~- k• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
: a+ p5 l$ r! W V0 t) U• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners % b0 M' |2 ?8 c) J" q% o
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
y% _4 K3 S0 ?• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
) m% u- Q" T+ E• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning
( y% e. X7 m c1 EPrimary Qualifications:
+ _' i6 G9 ~6 [4 T, c3 n, V3 I• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
( O' T. S: m% W' {: l• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media 4 ^. G5 h0 k. z
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
2 a1 D5 f$ S/ O! _! F' ?+ v• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
3 J* M! J) F* w9 I• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams ( `8 o. o4 U/ U8 b! _" ]5 T
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
9 {5 @7 ]! w7 G! A: ~4 j6 H• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc " X2 z& h/ K( ~; ?
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
/ B7 H' |, G/ l) \• Content / curriculum development experience 3 u9 }" V$ ~: ]6 F1 u% d2 }) s
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

& y8 l0 I( Z( G1 p3 X3 |• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. ! V6 t, C v$ Q5 E7 `
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset 9 I1 `1 d; q1 v0 @. c
• Policy research skill set is an asset J* C2 K; R8 q: m$ E5 j# b
• Marketing and communication experience an asset ; T4 r( [& y. k+ ^
