Position: Outreach Worker

- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
1 l  u; q' m5 x6 Y2 m- m' T-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
8 v& o/ A' y, K' n1 Q  @2 c- provide support to ISP staff
1 P2 [+ @) X. l3 Q/ V+ i- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
3 }% |, [" r  r( _8 ^- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
6 |& e, b# ^2 {) B' k- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

6 n5 T- k' g* _- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
+ v7 c% W1 x4 y* {- good organizational and coordination skills
" h9 X& ^/ ^/ @6 T& U- valid driver’s license

Salary
+ j+ {: Z( a! j+ ~1 }. n- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
