Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description) o, N* M K; I+ f: ] x! S
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
, |6 B; ?- V$ F! w3 G- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
" B5 Z: I6 T" D# Y- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
! L* G6 S- o# C; k) w- provide support to ISP staff
- i' w% @$ H1 S& `6 c/ \2 ~- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
* x, P$ c' H W3 a- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
7 q1 u7 Y' d4 M. e4 t) P- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated0 u; v; U) a% `. ~( R9 _
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
+ S. i ^& L: i0 E% k- `2 E- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals% C. {# @# Q* Z% G/ Y7 q
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
& ]' X1 W# _5 Q! j: T S- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
/ a( K( I$ C' ^9 I- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
4 v2 ?- \$ \* J! l- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned% @' `2 B0 P% _ }( q' Q2 D
- other duties as assigned { x- `% W. ~) r6 I( X
5 s. L* N+ y. C( k" n+ jQualifications) m" m4 F& @# ~2 d7 M, M
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
8 G, y2 {6 ^. _- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available' R, h0 |: M4 s3 Z# B5 C" A0 ^
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers1 Y& q. ~9 q0 a" B2 M: ^ w
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software5 u+ h& y$ P T. t* S* o
- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)

- good organizational and coordination skills

Salary
