Diagnosing diesel engine malfunctions and making indicated repairs
1 e$ W  P% G9 LOperating machinery in a safe and effective manner
Providing daily locomotive maintenance that includes changing oil or repairing, replacing, cleaning and adjusting parts
Assembling and starting engines

# Y% ?3 ^* z' _5 @5 tPreparing inspection, work and maintenance reports
Performing other functions as assigned

Occasionally lifting weights up to 100 pounds

Working shifts, sometimes away from home

2 F! D& {9 R) i6 [# V- ], w% ?Visual acuity and hearing threshold tests are required for this position. Written pre-employment tests to become a Machinist Apprentice are required for this position. Completion of 3-year apprenticeship is required to become a Journeyman Machinist. This position is subject to night, weekend and holiday work hours when needed.

This is not a Red Seal apprenticeship.
