Canada’s first comprehensive Digital Economy Strategy, we need to look
, \( z& J; T9 C9 ^5 g( W# c$ p' n& Jcarefully at how issues like UBB affect the big picture. We will be
% D) K5 {/ n- xguided by our long-standing policies of encouraging competition and
# b+ J7 d7 b9 H% O; X4 V+ J0 k, xinvestment, increasing consumer choice, minimizing regulation and allowing
, o8 V1 \% m9 F1 M: C9 F' `) `: _market forces to prevail.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has; U C' F$ k2 m5 _! a
chosen to examine these concerns that the government shares with a large

competition among internet service providers. I will be recommending that
