6 q# O4 ?! ~% A% v Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
: G+ M- J$ r/ F$ o- f1 Q# V) W Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
. ?, ?3 l6 S, z( f, L3 P0 w Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
! H" D  P& ~$ X) n6 Z% E1 w Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
5 w+ g' u4 A9 \6 Z& T! z& c Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
/ x' O, b0 |0 C1 T# [: X- V Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
( u6 Q  k5 @; P6 L  I; e' W3 k Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
. H3 z: ~& J& i5 c3 r6 ?- P Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
1 O/ M/ ], h7 l Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
& u1 k( V4 F- p# f Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
; M. R0 {1 j) ^$ f Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
' t: R# d% Q2 G  v Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.

6 J% M# q1 w, N! wEMCN is a community agency that provides a wide range of services to immigrants and refugees. Further information is available at www.emcn.ab.ca.  Salary for the position begins at $34 879. A cost-shared benefits plan, including RRSP, is available.
