The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

?1 c' |) r- m/ i5 v$ @• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
K! q, ?/ ?# k( u' I• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services." h& m/ S4 }% ^ G
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
' K; W; P) ?5 q! u) {/ B. _/ u• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.( I+ v0 | e9 q0 H3 I
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.$ T+ r4 j' E) L/ G& t
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
7 I, {( D' I# Z6 S7 z• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
$ L2 w' w$ z3 \5 k3 l• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities- s# _! ?' F* m) e
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
. e5 g% M ?, _• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO. L" b4 F5 P+ W9 p2 F2 l
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
; {9 U, E* @4 c( C3 s6 L• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation7 Q, R6 x+ @3 k3 D3 S) G# N
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate9 X8 d) t6 S% D8 }
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department- P. B6 h/ v) O" ~2 Z
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ~2 I# ^; |0 o! l
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency8 w9 W6 R9 a) I6 O. c. C1 |
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances0 ]' b+ Y4 k' r( `* H
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required1 T: O6 X# C% Z* c6 W

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
+ a8 z, `9 ?3 P; ?• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers& \8 L+ z% c# U( q& s0 i
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)+ r0 y2 j1 D4 h, A
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate & d. a1 x5 p- u# ^3 f; C
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required2 X8 X; h; h4 M e& t

Qualifications:, z6 C0 p; O% R8 H; n$ X7 }# D
+ U6 @2 t( h% P% V; R2 C• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination' M( R t0 }2 q# K) S; o2 p
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
* P5 N, D8 Y# }/ R" q- z& j& T• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
5 w4 x+ P. R1 i. v• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
