The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. • Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.; u6 [* K& ~- b$ U1 j. Y
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
' G+ n5 A& C) h• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
( r) i4 p5 @/ g" j" w! W0 ^• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
* s c* w/ S; w• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.5 I' A: Y( O. c3 s6 x) I
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
$ [4 q: O* q7 S) e4 j( }# ^# Q• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
- ]" N' i- L4 y• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities/ b3 I M {' J1 ?( q) y
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required# ]7 ^+ p6 h3 b) l

• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up. D1 [/ R6 c( i) a% Z

7 N+ i" L! e6 q0 L• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position( K$ `3 f& | z
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation! ?3 J+ I; P& @9 u4 G/ {
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate; X; } d6 l. i9 t
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
$ f& @9 |; H1 a/ ]" j7 b" r' X• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required # V( M% q( J) X ~4 {; h3 ?
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency$ {; {! e3 ~( [3 a. t) ~7 Y; `
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Prepare a regular monthly program report

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required9 l: J3 ~9 A& o7 l: m: j
?+ b& V* J& ]INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
1 z# g$ U" S5 x- c- s• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers9 M7 v* u! p7 S( M- X: Y
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)0 a' p4 R/ n8 B* h3 u8 I
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
V2 u5 q6 p, ~0 X• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:
N( j W/ R, ]4 _3 V4 T
9 _9 x0 i+ v O2 v3 S• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
4 S6 g1 k7 H9 E, g. Y+ d7 ]• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability! g2 C+ w! e j7 E5 B
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills3 _$ o6 n; u1 p* n& `
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
1 c; k, S. I3 u( _' ^- v• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
. b0 C( R8 p- Y• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
