The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

5 Y! n9 {, u' a# EThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.8 Q& ~/ f) a0 \( u( J$ ^
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
& R' u; p k# l; `1 _. e+ x• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge! U" A* [( w) y9 r5 t V; V* y
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.' Q: i0 s7 z0 I$ a/ F2 d
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
9 z8 P* P$ W7 q: A: ?5 c" ?• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
, o, q+ J2 b5 K• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
+ U+ U/ M+ P% J1 l• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
+ v& u2 }% y7 O) m0 j3 W& F• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO* k3 j4 [' j! ]) r/ s, X
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up4 ?: ~; D9 b9 K3 U& i
( }# f. O/ g, i4 C# q7 i" L' XADMINISTRATION
, m+ G' P' v4 c4 B7 ~* Y• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position( o7 f3 ]/ |% A% f; U
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
) P0 |' a, u9 _4 W q# n+ u2 p• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate0 G7 S0 h* J: x6 m# X
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
) ]- k Y1 J' e* L( o• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required 7 M* h' Z5 q v: z' p' p
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances. j0 ^/ V' v" A, z& j: [( G
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required5 }! H& E; v; |# v- D
0 k. u! g; U4 KINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
q: \3 s1 e9 P• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
' V: W( q$ G8 |6 R# E( M7 h8 Q• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
. ^* f1 F" s, ?% ?. Y• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate . Y% g$ Z5 M. J+ H
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

3 g/ M6 m9 R, l1 r3 r7 u9 {( F• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
8 w/ o: ^ L4 u+ {7 F' B, K6 W4 O: d% ^• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
! d; p$ V; I8 m# [- D) x' o* y• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
) q( O z" e3 _• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills / g" F9 h6 H6 `& B6 r+ t: v* v
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
6 r0 `$ S% `, |• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects : Y: u& d: ^) x0 M7 @
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
