Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
; L6 s; D3 R8 V•        Process research equipment design;
1 y8 n- g4 \1 m  s•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
7 W" F, |) C5 l% @3 G1 f•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;

: m2 ^  K! e2 d& X, OQualifications:
•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
  Z) @+ C. {, J; m/ e$ q7 W  m•        Equipment design experience is required;
•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
•        Familiar with CAD software;
5 d( [9 C- c+ H; F" ^7 k# U•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
5 j6 n. B: W; ]* L/ x8 s; D1 F•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
