Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
, L0 L* `1 h, X$ a7 s$ F! M0 F; r Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
- P) B1 a' m/ j/ K) M0 H Completing required paperwork.
( D& h* Z* ^# }3 G# A9 t* L Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
2 h7 `, u# b) X, g) v7 g- r" z+ e/ S Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
+ Z* k3 w9 \& o Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
) s& k/ [- n! H+ \( t8 _
. W' d" `) p& m7 w0 q) v2 f4 [: a8 ]9 v1 Z Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
6 g3 A* r& Y8 T Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
# a0 G0 K, U4 o# u Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
% Q0 T+ K+ v3 x0 q, Ostarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
