Key Responsibilities & Duties:

2 E" o4 A  o5 T: @  ^' N' Y Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
2 J5 G) b% ~- Z8 }  U* N. l6 I  R Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
3 K, @1 N) N. z. r Completing required paperwork.
6 d8 l6 l3 H6 |, M Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
: O/ H( a( H; h; x Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
# O% B5 d$ o1 a+ Q8 D2 R7 x
6 J( w2 H) k5 f$ _" x* x Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 s) c1 A& n* U2 w8 s. B( M$ L Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
5 L4 F* Q* b3 S! |* k! L2 R# ] Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
, B5 c+ \( [7 x- o, ] Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* R+ R# G5 v% S Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

1 i2 `1 V. D. g2 e3 qThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
