I have been so much impressed by the determination and dedication of the people active in this column on improving their English. The postings and the discussions sometimes are so courageous to me that I for quite a few times really want to spend some time to help these people by whatever means. ! }7 A+ A2 U: Z, o6 t

1) Learning Oscar winner movies
' l5 s6 P+ U: v; x - A group of 4-5 people chooses a best Oscar winner movie.+ Q, B$ f4 Y1 F3 t8 A1 H' Y; W" o# x
- Watch and memorize, repeat until you can freely speak as in the movie
, L' i! q B U- i1 ^3 V - The group does short plays just like in the movie

2) Learning speeches) j3 `/ D' ?; X4 A' j
- Find a best speech, read the speech loudly and memorize it, repeat until you can speak as the speaker. b1 v8 _0 `# `; y. t
- each of the 4-5 people group do the speech in front of the others0 y8 ^9 K- y, l) F+ T+ W
& L+ }1 L$ _4 c* q7 J
These may not be the best ways of learning a foreign language, but they will help you break through the foreign language barrier and meanwhile give you good English. |
