Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:

# V5 X# u9 Q6 L; t: gRecruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.

Training – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.

Organize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.

, y- E0 k7 v$ P/ WNetworking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.' E2 w8 A/ }* I3 N3 C- j3 T8 {

Professional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.4 u. A0 ^/ f6 b( f2 ]3 P
1 u# @1 F0 x5 H( x- SProposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators. % \3 g$ e5 C/ P. q( w1 p

Project Evaluation & Reports – submit timely monthly, quarterly, annual reports and include in all interim and final reports, outcome measures using indicators from logic model.3 r1 v( O% |/ F) S0 p
