- a7 E2 F/ h' [2 N+ oAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
3 {7 \$ a  W4 J+ {. t3 g2 F2 T$ P: s• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
& W  ?8 L( s/ f" F# y• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
! i# f# S+ X1 ?. L9 J4 j• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
: Y' F3 p* g9 C" y2 _4 c+ u: N• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
0 l" o; n! P% C' k: o• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
1 }- \8 ~& D' l4 H• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
4 M7 ^& [* x9 `+ }- x2 r  n• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
: L9 B" O1 Y+ u4 F& }1 e# d& [/ E• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
! ]9 M) x7 h! u4 G• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
4 v/ q( m2 W9 y# T$ X7 \: i* @# b3 |' X• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
