Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services. # u7 B; v1 F, H
The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
( s3 y7 k+ L0 vnewcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social 8 d: y8 H# ~# X9 \/ [
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
) ?2 J1 u. M, c. h0 c! Hneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for e, m, q5 u# k( ?" {* D
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial # e: ^! Y! X) E- X4 q
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-7 M9 U9 i8 H. \. c: o

Providing holistic information or advocacy services for immigrants and refugees served.

newcomers in settling and fully participating in community.

: V- U% K0 L5 n* G. Z. Q Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and
: ]- I: G: s+ s7 V) {experience in Social Work or related human service fields. % r7 A+ U+ y( B' s# h5 L( V
Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family 5 R+ m9 l6 X5 \; W7 h
support needs % ?" S+ D* J8 E1 T" y
Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications

Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate 2 r* I% y. O/ s) G" A3 t5 F
