A scary moment for employees at the Maxxam Analytics Tuesday afternoon.+ Z# o2 G% p1 ^- ?2 F

Around 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.

Fire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.
" I% }, l1 w% ^" l# Q, N+ K- u h. u$ z4 _; ?' J
"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."

Wilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.# s( J( q8 z e! C% c2 O `

"We had eight units on scene, with about 30 firefighters," he says. "The fire was out in just under 45 minutes, and was under control in 15.") p/ e. y1 R$ v$ e* _* M

Wilson adds one person was injured in the fire.: S1 @+ O3 L- `) t" k

"When crews arrived there was a male who sustained some injuries during this event who was transported to U of A Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries."
