Around 2:25 p.m., Edmonton Fire Rescue received two 911 calls to 50th Street and 67th Avenue. One was reporting a fire, the other reporting that someone had been injured at the same location.

Fire rescue's Tim Wilson tells iNews880 there was a flash fire in a lab where the chemical Toluene is housed.2 F# u1 H, o$ W0 i
- @* o# A" |, I, Q% p# l* o9 D"The fire took place in a room at this facility that did have some sort of flammable products stored in there," says Wilson, "and somehow, this ignited and caused a fire."

Wilson says fire rescue responded with trucks from three houses because of the flammable chemicals housed in the building.0 B4 A. d0 C; D9 G I$ h& Z: o
& y R! v2 u7 y; u3 A0 E: o"We had eight units on scene, with about 30 firefighters," he says. "The fire was out in just under 45 minutes, and was under control in 15."2 q8 h* e. a7 W# e
