execution of the YWCA Strategy

+ n% }8 P+ d% S ^9 ?• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
+ Z4 s ^3 P" }; |2 j( wthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by l. U6 k! E6 O7 F
the Board of Directors;
6 n0 |" u9 r; \7 s• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 0 I1 u$ w, i+ T+ S0 V
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 9 W, k: {/ C/ O* X! v6 [5 U
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; 5 P* F, L) U: v
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
, v/ i4 E: C$ R3 [objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; " `2 {- k2 }8 ~* \2 k8 ~+ c# a' O0 m
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
. {# Q! F9 h: @' L8 jthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; $ w- p; N6 x, }0 l/ L
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the l6 q8 \: B( U3 p1 E9 h
changing needs of the organization and community;
/ W2 D6 ~9 W) I8 N: y& p+ ~- a• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue - s2 ^3 ~5 \2 s. v0 Z$ L
commitments;
( L/ T9 O7 i+ {- C• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 0 r/ `- L8 L6 x, s$ b* ?
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
4 e p, v$ ]( Q# _) Iselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 7 N* J6 S1 i# v- g* w$ v
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; * i( T, n$ D ~. o
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to + `6 c- @8 \$ `$ q" p1 ]
effectively and positively represent the association;

1 J8 D2 L! F2 Q1 P$ ?• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring
. v- O& R }4 _- ^the implementation of systems to manage these risks; : n6 z! o: C3 A
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal 3 e$ P# t L- b( ?
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED ) S( Z5 m& b( m
the forthcoming year; # m7 b7 u: M J, o
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 5 c8 ^3 t z6 ]
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of 5 @+ o& s" V# h; w, t. w I
YWCA Canada; and

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations; 3 l. D0 {/ s' K. M
• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation 2 I/ o& t0 }- `/ d, W3 k) n4 d
abilities;
, l6 t; d. O4 F# e6 f• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting . [1 M8 B( {. J/ z

• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women 0 n# D5 B; B+ E1 d" O
centered perspective.
