Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
' D/ r. d) P9 U5 |8 Qexecution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
3 x4 Y" |0 g- c" Y$ Lthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
& M2 }9 g7 l) @the Board of Directors;
- X/ D( p* S) @: e! u0 x• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations ! T4 a7 T. o5 K, z
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ! p, g8 o* j2 K9 V
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; / R9 v3 N& L' A) {4 H2 C
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
1 G7 U% V2 T& u( f8 K$ Eobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
# U# V+ V( P; H ?the board;
9 L$ H4 G* B- U: B6 m' x1 J+ V• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
7 k _- F5 y. N, Y• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
1 i2 V4 m$ I2 n5 xthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
1 `7 X j! S3 J c* P$ E• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 6 u8 h: m# S2 }4 k
changing needs of the organization and community;
% x& ^5 F# e2 `3 h• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 4 |- \" z& }% Y0 z4 u5 V
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective & I$ L' c9 \7 v, I
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; 2 u+ I* J$ ?" G& T) a H. Q
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 4 A; T& }: l- |) W- `" X
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
$ P% }0 a, _. E3 w0 t- h1 Z; jeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring 2 k- t7 h+ I& P8 X" N# G! V$ s( D
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; & Y& }6 Q3 m2 R1 E
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
; `( z/ M/ L7 v4 y( j+ m* c* aperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED

practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of / B |9 m2 T8 H' V1 Z

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 x# X# O7 ^2 c: S' s8 o+ x

Required Experience 1 R% o8 s7 k1 C+ b& E( u7 ~
• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
5 n& ~+ o: S+ c- V• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation
" U9 M1 u6 d7 R% g- \4 ~abilities; 6 B' R( |( @' ^. O! Y
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, ' ~1 f8 M1 c4 U. X, |6 T
Networking and Fundraising;
& c/ |; k" v, P' ]! Q5 c• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting % P$ P1 t0 h4 \, @1 I1 r, ^# o" `/ u
and financial statements; and
