Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and
! }1 |; @* p3 U, t# r1 G h0 X, _execution of the YWCA Strategy

Specific responsibilities include: 0 z, {9 m9 m$ Q( m- |/ O

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of % v4 o6 \( `' {$ L
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
4 H9 M, E& Q- L# |the Board of Directors;
( e& f# d: Q8 g2 z/ _! V( ]• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
; t' `2 t% v" z8 ^* \( pincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
) P- b$ g3 s8 A$ _% `8 eenable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
; r3 c% b) d2 B. F• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 7 k; x( D( V" k7 C7 G3 S
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
# K) ~7 u3 P- Q0 Q4 pthe board;
$ ?" J$ G! N$ v0 h• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
1 I- I, K1 S; ^4 J• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion 7 ~4 @8 D1 p- A5 j
the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
& B3 B6 f5 C! L, K0 l. y5 `$ [• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the ; @, a* c8 s9 a2 v* V `! R$ u0 n
changing needs of the organization and community; % V1 E# f1 p9 \: a W
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue

- y; f% t" Z( ~5 |• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; 3 h7 \, f9 N6 m& U4 k' q) S& t
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective # U, B! s7 x D
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
/ l9 w7 s8 B7 y$ C# U1 i6 [• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; 0 v6 \2 W) z- H* k6 k8 A; w
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to & e: ] t' w+ i1 i$ z
effectively and positively represent the association; 4 }2 O, p6 @9 {5 b

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring K1 T/ }4 _! G1 O# s
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; 2 A4 g+ z: L: w5 {* T* C
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
6 z$ z& e* a0 ~- Gperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED
" }, v# E, `8 _# J" ithe forthcoming year;
% T3 a k- L5 w( N% R• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
5 M& t5 _; f& G* o4 s1 opractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
: x" f, }9 ?5 z# ?• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation / M, {# H/ B$ A; R
abilities;
3 f4 i8 i1 W, }- @& ~7 P• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations, / b7 P2 K1 x. z4 H9 w/ n
Networking and Fundraising;
