                   Summer Job Opportunity for
      Children’s Summer Program Coordinator, 2010

Responsibilities:
. A7 W! g- K* t. Y& ^" ]0 u-        Organize, plan, and facilitate the Children’s Summer Program (ages 6 to 15)
# o( R( u( w9 `+ I9 O9 X-        Recruit children for summer programs
7 s) C5 a" @! {9 V9 |-        Recruit and train volunteers for summer programs
# [3 x" L& d4 a. k) {-        Budgeting and record keeping
-        Provide orientation for parents
-        Prepare final end of summer report for funding agency
-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
% w8 r9 s; I. b3 u9 q3 Y/ L-        Should have direct experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
) n* W9 S3 K4 T2 \: i- `0 P( {-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
' ]- ]! [# k: h$ g-        Returning student to post-secondary institution in Fall 2010
-        Have current first aid certificate
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
$ x" K* f/ J; @-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

Salary
-        $15 per hour
