Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:2 L p- m' {; r: g3 l {- I
After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again. 6 s; E+ q3 Q! J1 p) X) o5 t I4 s
It is a cycle./ N- _) g/ m; U2 z; @9 L' a9 @- d- ]+ R
$ z/ m- {2 S$ |" g7 gWe isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.+ b5 h$ h' @4 o0 P5 t: E3 R; M
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine. D. P, L7 I. H* ~, A
The problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.+ _" c- n# }. I- N* V. @
Use a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
4 J" A8 A# H+ ?2 f% e/ r5 vConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same.% F6 V6 U# c, t* G. _+ p2 M
3 _. ^) ~/ A% u2 w* g" V" oThe next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.2 B( ~7 q F2 I o: V
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.
5 C) Z$ D% q+ }* N+ S It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.
