Two cutler –hammer advantage starters are doing the same thing:
% P+ ]2 B3 r% l$ Q After start 2-3 times, they will quit working, if you toggle the start and stop buttons on DCS screen , you will get another 2-3 running before they quit working again.

We isolate the network control and use the local start and stop only, the problem remains.. k% H2 F& P) R9 V
Swap one of the defective buckets with a good one, the new bucket works fine.
# {! y: q) F. R0 iThe problem should be inside the bucket.

When the problem happened, we observed that the contactor has a pulling action but will not seal.
3 Q1 O( b4 G$ ~- X TUse a terminating screw divers to push in the contactor, it will not seal either.
7 C( B# a$ p. V# EConfirm with TECH support this should be a problem with the control circuit board inside the advantage starter, we bought two new control circuit boards and replaced the old ones, the problem is still the same." d }8 Z* c6 u0 @. T+ Q

The next thing we can think of is the coil, we took the coil out to have a close look.8 L; R6 v# ~) J. M; ?
They have a fork to pinch inside the two leads to make connection, it is not a good design at all. We soldered the connection and tried again.7 Z+ d; S# H6 U6 {
It is getting better this time, we have 7-8 times of running before it quit working.

# \! ]2 `7 M6 _& b" q ^The coil should be the problem, we ordered two of them. But it will take 5-6 weeks for us to get them.
