CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.

No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.8 a% u$ K: c9 a( d0 C5 p4 I# l

The energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.9 ]3 f9 w% j' V7 F' E% f

Suncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
