CALGARY - A fire has halted operations at one of Suncor Energy's two oilsands upgraders north of Fort McMurray, the company said Tuesday.

/ ~4 _- L K1 C9 L: W2 D( ^No one was hurt in the incident which happened after a fire broke out around midnight at its upgrader #1, Suncor said.5 ^1 i& B% d# L8 S6 T9 ` i
. g9 m7 J8 s; R; k6 b& T8 ZThe energy giant said the 125,000-barrel-per-day unit was shut down after the fire, and it is currently assessing damage.

1 T% [. z0 r9 I% E8 L6 x: HSuncor has been plagued by a series fires at its oilsands operations in the past five months, suffering three fires since October in the upgraders which convert bitumen into synthetic crude oil.
