7 E8 B- n, Y2 {. R7 z& dIn collaboration with the Director of Care, develops the philosophy of nursing, statement of purpose for nursing services, goals and objectives, policies and procedures and the description of nursing functions. 1 n& p$ ~, `- `
Plans, directs, develops, co-ordinates, implements and evaluates resident care services. ; I u4 @& ^. u
Aligns resident care services with the defined needs of the internal and external community. , u+ I; I5 o+ }1 K/ N- R
Oversees the financial and human resource management of the service. ( e' J |, u! }0 `9 Y6 j
Maintains the service in accordance with legislative and professional standards.
6 _) P1 ]$ n. L5 f. ]- i) QMaintains a liaison with hospital, medical staff, community and health care related disciplines and partners to ensure the most effective provision of care delivery in the facility.
" W/ g2 ?9 z9 p) G6 jExercises authority over resident care staff such as; supervises, directs, evaluates, hires, fires and promotes for the purpose of ensuring quality care and a safe, effective and efficient work environment.
! R* ]8 V; @% p, k- xEnsures the availability and maintenance of Nursing Department supplies and equipment to meet the departmental needs in a fiscally responsible manner. ' \+ K+ J8 ~% f( I
Discusses and collaborates with the Director of Care on issues relating to Infection Control and co-ordinates associated monitoring activities within the facility.

Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
9 i3 O8 E- h( E4 b6 B: bEnsures resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted.

A Registered Nurse meeting the requirements to holding a license in the applicable Province.
3 [( N% {0 B/ N2 j/ PPost RN education in gerontology or 3 years experience in long-term care.
, a( z' s6 A) A, s! V) x, I! IPost RN education in management or 3 years relevant managerial experience.
: e5 V( z% q- f% s! G O6 _Possession of strong motivational, team building and time management skills.
# V, L8 d3 V8 eIs computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel. % A n' X9 ~) [% \& h" {
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
