A baby food recall is underway as a popular Heinz baby cereal may contain elevated levels of a mycotoxin.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Heinz Canada are warning parents about ‘Heinz Mixed Cereal, Stage 2, From 6 Months’. The best before date codes located on the top left hand corner of the package are ‘BB/MA 10 DE 26’ and ‘BB/MA 10 DE 29’.

CFIA says that if a child has consumed the food, there is no need to seek medical attention since the substance is not harmful when eaten as part of a healthy diet over the short term.
