A/ X* U$ E The Field Operator is responsible for monitoring production in field locations surrounding the Balzac Gas Plant facility (10 minutes north of the Calgary city limits; 30 km from the downtown core). This position works a 35 day shift rotation, which includes 12 hour days/nights and 9 hour training days. This role is bound by the terms of the Collective Agreement (Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Local 773).
Job Duties/Responsibilities  
. m. a& a& |) @ -  Display competency with operations procedures checklists and critical procedures;
0 s& E3 L) y$ h' [9 M3 |4 F-  Provide day to day control of producing wells, pipelines and associated production equipment;
-  Make and carry out recommendations to maximize production, minimize operating costs and eliminate downtime;
8 W* S5 b( {; _8 a-  Ensure all field related activities are completed safely, on schedule and in an environmentally safe and cost effective manner;
-  Comply with all EH&S, Corporate and Regulatory rules and procedures. Report any unacceptable conditions and incidents;
-  Work in a team-oriented atmosphere and contribute to the ongoing success of the Balzac Complex;
-  Know and understand the Nexen Canadian Oil & Gas "Our Culture" statement;

( n$ h* o& h4 I% U  I; C% H/ R Education/Experience  
9 I0 S3 C  h5 p/ M. i& y: h" W - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent in training and experience;
5 j! g$ ?! a7 v' m0 r8 K0 m) E8 P-  Minimum of 3 years' related experience operating sour gas wells, pipelines and compressors;
+ x, i5 @6 s( T! }+ F& p-  Current H2S Alive certification or equivalent;
0 \% k+ p9 w' i$ p# Q-  Dependable, organized and self motivated;
-  Strong initiative and problem solving skills;
-  A willingness and ability to work in outdoor conditions.
