24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
. _! i% Y; a+ n. aThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
* W% W* e. a; U3 EEligibility Criteria
) s0 C& p. \% C# ^All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
4 E3 _/ A/ G R( Y•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less/ d6 ^% R0 A' D# g: J
•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
7 d9 d+ H3 l b& R- m•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English* Q* r, `5 ?! f! a
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
! K9 Q* z5 X9 l& @•No prior Canadian work experience in their field3 i0 | ]+ F: \- `- w. E3 A$ W6 _1 i
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less6 A! x9 l, S+ e* T/ {4 f' X( D
•Be eligible to work in Canada
4 [: E& H# `& T' m0 Z1 z' B•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop

•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning6 e$ r8 B7 U3 ~: Y I
Time Commitment
6 c) B$ B6 J. f: n/ l5 E6 s$ j/ EThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
