THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
& ?! p9 @$ m; b8 h: l6 k$ JThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
* M) |) h9 {1 R* q; Q0 HAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
/ [% h0 V1 \; Q# t: W" a7 y# l3 a•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
( c- w( X& z! ^) C•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
- X- g. z& r. g" }, @•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
2 z6 M+ x% c4 q' I- F•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
' E' v  G) P, [' y2 M* {4 ~•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
•Be eligible to work in Canada
•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop

2 V' }! M- x' E& N! O: N•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning

0 a+ p; S% R, }# Q3 {4 r% YThe maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
