THE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:

8 R. y: X. ^" b$ I$ }% b+ A3 VThis fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.

4 Q8 D, }- P* rAll potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:# v; L- \+ N1 _3 x
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
: D" S3 q0 o8 X4 q- e•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
8 l' u* O# w5 d) ]. z: y: n6 N0 J% z•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English; _. ]7 L: A0 n& G4 a- n7 x* `
•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
! H9 M. x1 F; u3 v- l" m: U•No prior Canadian work experience in their field. `" M7 W* c+ d# k/ `
•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
8 B1 z7 e5 G& W8 V/ o5 s& q( ?•Be eligible to work in Canada

•Lack access to professional networks; X, S7 e8 c7 c! `! y% c
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning* Q) q. c1 v' n
Time Commitment% h' y5 Z, G Y$ Y! p
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months. This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.3 c; I# N' v w1 E
