6 X) c& \, o: D9 R( {Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special ( U5 R) e3 \1 A* H# p& J- ~
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: . d8 |2 ]  S# e; v
' g. ~  d) ]+ g1 q% A. I8 y# ]) {
Duties:  Special Events  8 `3 V! [# ]% }- Y2 O
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 0 b( i. ~4 e. _$ K8 a
·  Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
* V8 [2 C7 F( `- x$ b; Z·  Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
" b! i0 A$ c4 k8 E7 o2 s+ ], ~with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
. }* l2 Z( r9 @1 g$ s) z( Iadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
4 p/ d5 n& p, J. lset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.   
7 i: `( Y9 `. J·  Attend and manage Special Events  2 r# v( D& ]; I" D; K* M4 _
·  Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee + ?; u) F2 d  h, G6 b! ^: W5 S

( y; M  r7 ]) N  n* f. _Duties: Volunteer Coordination & \: a: Q( Q( }% W% J- L4 Y
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 5 y! B- _  C# }+ J6 E! T/ F+ m
·  Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
; S1 y/ o" h! ]) @' [·  Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
, O, P3 Z% @1 f·  Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ) `0 |7 {  a: `$ l/ e
·  Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers  
* g6 s0 d( \. n$ \" h·  Complete program administration, statistics and records 0 |! I6 i' o& t! }2 F3 M, Q
  s2 M% |. O  `
Qualifications: ! H4 {. r( Q2 L0 m% U2 |5 t
·  Completion of 12th. f7 }% o, H3 i
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ( o) o. i3 |: ]$ f" v0 V2 S) D
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. 8 r8 ~( A- d9 G( J# H
·  At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct $ U) |# o' d4 l3 H2 R
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
% }! {1 s8 m5 j·  Experience working with and managing volunteers
- x6 @/ F8 T% ?, w7 j2 p·  Specialized skills and training in working with seniors  ) q) i3 |7 {7 F+ \, A/ |
·  Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events " e: `0 o4 {. u5 f* C4 K7 i
·  Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ' R6 ^- t5 x* M
·  Security Clearance
