Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
' @6 x1 E% ^, a7 d; VEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: 4 q% e k( c; ?, w0 A2 l

Duties: Special Events
+ s3 k% `; T( A0 bPlan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 7 o( V7 p" i/ B& s0 k, B
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
0 O' u, m0 Z( F( @; ^· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
o) O! U8 q Q6 ?with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
3 X( w; Q2 O4 p: v; D Wadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure 9 U" ~% ~. g# E& R' V' q
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. 3 |, i& G' \% e1 J
· Attend and manage Special Events
. D1 q' a( ]% H$ L8 e* |· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 4 _) R V8 v+ Y v1 U @

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
9 [& e" x4 y3 R4 k- _· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions - p& c7 J& @6 w2 ~; A) E5 c
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
) ^6 F0 x, _% Z( U( |1 h· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
* w' g/ x2 K8 f; L- t" o8 C· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
7 k0 v5 g0 h A( e/ U V· Complete program administration, statistics and records " @& T8 |+ @2 G: A

Qualifications:
/ S4 V1 K, l, I& ]$ _- C· Completion of 12th
3 U8 c0 S6 k4 B4 y/ a Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
, j! X" q* r4 u. ~9 N' R; {4 kAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
' u: N; k9 `; P# U) z· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct 6 ?+ Y# e1 Z$ e( s1 G
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 9 r% p, H2 N- o3 d# l9 s
· Experience working with and managing volunteers
2 }9 x- P& e7 h8 D' Z4 P; ~% E5 ^· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors / U) O& S* S9 @/ q& ?1 h
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events ( h3 B+ L* C' i. _# i! o
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
