Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: . q; t* V6 b( c) U& U
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
( e1 m1 |$ s+ `% C% ~$ b· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
+ S3 s* t4 M& D% ^" L. _& Z8 |with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
4 w: h% N& ?3 c1 `advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
7 j6 C! ^! x. l: R0 R* \8 Vset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. . A) r" h0 x; i2 e
· Attend and manage Special Events ! R# u; n) S) T) z
· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
( t, U6 E- G5 m2 P* d· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 4 o+ m% W1 P% }' C8 g3 m( g2 v
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers . h- ^8 e- I1 Y% @
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers % z* A4 ~. ]& D# a
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
: E _; v* Y0 p( v0 F% @· Complete program administration, statistics and records

$ m7 V6 r% V' V. U+ [0 [ OQualifications: 2 L2 E9 N; t" j; f* d
· Completion of 12th9 f, z% {4 a- v' g J' N( R
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 4 B2 D1 j/ Y# T V
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
# Z6 J8 f& E; h: ~$ R E/ Y# D+ }· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct - |3 y$ L; g" |: z! w
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events 5 O8 W% p9 J2 f
· Experience working with and managing volunteers # |2 y" w& A5 X6 ?
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors 6 V& m( H/ D: S. R* X7 L
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events + Y& p9 t0 [- m2 i, K
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training ) D5 r# V6 ^9 j4 Z& b
· Security Clearance , s5 ]' ^ U( o! R
