SPECIAL EVENTS/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR / t$ q* V4 \, v) I, N- l8 J+ Z

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
- E+ U" F+ k4 n% I0 u- A7 MEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Duties:  Special Events  0 U6 u; e" l( C8 R! N- I1 r
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
7 ~- v7 m: m7 @4 W- b·  Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
/ q* J; Y6 E, b( M* O1 p·  Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist   T0 o/ [9 V( [2 v
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the 3 M- N* p( q! F- Z1 x6 y2 {
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
/ A& J  m8 ], _! a0 C, Tset-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.   
6 ^; J0 ^8 x9 D& `5 O6 ]·  Attend and manage Special Events  * z2 X& c0 R& C& h8 p& T% Z
·  Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee 8 c# e: i) ~$ ]8 b

8 A( [& E( ?" \. uDuties: Volunteer Coordination + ]. p' X% c+ K; n6 X
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: ! L4 B1 e# ~  E4 A) N8 D- T, P. T. G
·  Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
4 r  S) [) |3 I( j8 C# z·  Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers 6 p4 s1 u9 T6 R( K" G5 @. g3 y2 u
·  Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
$ r9 y3 w. m' d$ b·  Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers  - \  @8 E, y1 ^$ |' W' {1 P
·  Complete program administration, statistics and records

3 a4 A7 O  t7 o' A, ^Qualifications:
  E/ }9 Z& O+ y' j3 _, q·  Completion of 12th
) i( L9 x0 `" V: m1 s8 V Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation 1 P" }* N- J% ^( j0 L: K6 m
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
: X1 X' m/ @2 J, J4 S·  At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct $ `9 d$ R" A7 X
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
( [' n- R9 u( |' M1 f& f* W·  Experience working with and managing volunteers 8 ~  O7 m% r) v2 m% X
·  Specialized skills and training in working with seniors  
8 t( d: z" Z, Q! k0 Z0 z6 ]! X·  Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events 8 @; m- s6 G2 L
·  Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
$ \. g/ L9 }5 c/ K3 K' f8 D·  Security Clearance 9 O: Z/ e) @7 e9 m& ]8 |

0 Z+ A+ l: v- W8 N1 ?/ R3 Z+ L7 iHours:   Flexible – some evening and weekend work

  R2 e' t9 ]& a( S  i- N5 yWages:  $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
) q; ~" ?2 p. `     3-month probation to start 5 _% ^; T+ `7 i
