Duties' u1 u/ u- W% K F

* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory) {3 S7 l; r" ^! N
* Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr2 V+ e/ v# z& ]) f! F" D1 W3 S
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
+ e5 J* b. O& Z0 L2 R2 `- Z * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations+ R, a6 L1 Q7 _5 C' Q* s' p
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations# |0 e& ^6 f" [2 t( P
2 c# a/ M& o( V' f6 t' i% @Qualifications' d9 C% v9 G, q% l7 p' K& O H- J8 n7 b
+ @' |5 V/ A1 L7 E * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
9 ? v; m% Q i) s6 I5 Z * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
' ^5 ` }! K9 L* U6 Q * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers

* Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset. h9 h. Q; T- G7 @/ A' x
