' d4 G- ?/ I& ~5 V& N2 ]Health authorities confirm there is a cluster of flu cases at the hospital. They now confirm there are three cases, one staff member and two children.The closed area is Unit 3 on the third floor. This unit treats children with kidney and neurological problems. 9 z, ^4 C0 t D* C7 e3 I" D4 Y0 K% k5 t" n
Signs have been posted outside the unit to warn visitors and other patients of the infection prevention measures. ' v$ l5 u9 o$ p( M8 m# G! R( u- H" C2 }7 C5 J* q- ?; J
Only parents and guardians are allowed in. The doors are locked so nobody else walks into the area. ' o4 X: y: s/ H3 F0 Y- Q% Y' q7 K' e+ f
New patients are being directed to other floors and common areas on that floor are being shut down. g3 E& A: U( h/ H" q$ q, v( |8 E' @2 u/ X# N7 z, v0 i( ]; K' d
Alberta continues to record new cases of the H1N1 virus. There have now been over 1100 cases in Alberta and two deaths.
