Part of Children's Hospital shut down after H1N1 outbreak in Calgary

Part of the Alberta Children's Hospital is closed because of an outbreak of the H1N1 virus.

Health authorities confirm there is a cluster of flu cases at the hospital. They now confirm there are three cases, one staff member and two children.The closed area is Unit 3 on the third floor. This unit treats children with kidney and neurological problems.

# S  R, h" c$ f/ vSigns have been posted outside the unit to warn visitors and other patients of the infection prevention measures.

- V" O% A9 I5 }  YOnly parents and guardians are allowed in. The doors are locked so nobody else walks into the area.

New patients are being directed to other floors and common areas on that floor are being shut down.

Alberta continues to record new cases of the H1N1 virus. There have now been over 1100 cases in Alberta and two deaths.
