Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 q6 o8 O; g. ^4 NActivity Planning and Daily Activity7 }+ E. Q2 x P
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.# x% m3 c+ J9 w+ ]- y
• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. ' H' A$ J* t8 I8 N
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
8 I$ a! G7 D5 q# B" y• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
6 q+ m% d& `0 Q• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.4 M R+ W: s% J, Q9 r/ X" ?1 z
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

1 A2 R/ _* z7 sThe successful candidate will have:
8 `4 G" d7 e! A9 E) T• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting5 `: d/ s7 ]& q9 a i& ?
• Experience with children- q# j2 B) X( J7 N3 R- [( z
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
; i% T# N8 m f: N; H6 D• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring./ X5 z: f4 C( k0 ?+ a
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.( Z2 l9 y" _0 }& H3 T
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
, G8 L U4 P( o1 t6 y• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check / K r, P% m8 g! @
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
