" V! I6 E% F. ~- KBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff. ' E2 ^3 j; z- V1 O- o8 S* i

Key Responsibilities Include1 A- V# f, H# m
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
0 D, K& p# i. E( A$ t• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
2 B7 p+ H5 I* W0 x2 ?! L, `3 h• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
9 ~" h0 y" d3 |7 \• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball, 4 u; M! x- W5 k9 n
• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.# s1 W$ X7 G0 x3 y# g+ F, e* a
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
1 B, K x& N# W! f" \5 [+ @# Z$ H: x• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

7 L( [6 S& x# X/ V0 M$ Q+ A. oThe successful candidate will have:
" l4 \( M) D+ _7 l5 y; D3 y• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting: C4 [: j/ j# j
• Experience with children' P4 k" [' J4 r2 b2 J& W# B
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
" [/ e/ U8 U' b( X4 `6 ]' F• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
" X8 H3 {0 w' h, n, J• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.- G- p# ?: D3 Q
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources9 z; D E3 q3 n
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check 8 T+ ^* }' C% Q( b. L2 r
• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
