FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the - y4 }: u" K8 D1 ^* V$ T
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to + t6 o4 l7 g# T5 [5 E. u
support the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern

: @ r2 _6 H" s1 T d' c7 H- _FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
4 _- N1 w: D [emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video ! ^/ W3 i3 ^/ M7 B9 r: ]
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a 6 D/ }; W, x! I4 U
resource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and & N% X1 d1 P) T; k
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
4 G9 N' P7 X2 xFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as

Duties:
) {/ s# y }& d# n; B# e- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library # ]" T6 N" w: o) r l
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
. V% a9 d7 B$ Y* B) @& I) y j- Implement a catalogue template for future use & T. w6 y& x$ |& j7 Z ~% B8 H
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure * n1 ~' J) Z S2 e, C9 F
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience or training in library sciences preferred ; y# U6 c5 p& l% f* T: a
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
