FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the " k0 j, v$ P4 |" L
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
f! y9 P* E' G) }, Psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern ; ^# T6 u$ N9 S
Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from ( V, q0 \" C2 L
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
- Q' Y$ D U" B( U4 A- B wand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
- e# F3 |* r8 [$ xresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and - @( b H( b9 f0 m
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern ; I8 O& K5 c( r6 ]2 x

FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as - |) X2 U9 n7 z9 P7 _, p. w8 a
well as the script, magazine and book library. ( X5 |/ G V! S4 l9 P

Duties:
* _5 k+ G6 ]; d) a9 ^% p' c- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
% ?! \6 ~2 E' x _( R7 t. _- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books 1 i( G4 u; ^( B
- Implement a catalogue template for future use ' V7 |9 Z4 w0 m- V& ~# w
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / @& k6 r+ f: O7 w
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable S* Z. G& Y) E1 H" x

- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: 1 S6 l. N5 u& W0 C. s. w! k
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
7 M3 N( L3 h: {8 b/ w5 i& V2 v- Strong organizational skills
0 x" j" q: ?: F8 P% A- Experience or training in library sciences preferred 1 X/ K/ G' r# F
