* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications9 D- C7 `$ O ^2 U8 x' `
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
. S* r% d0 s- V * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance) G& E( F5 Q! T/ f( S g1 s
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 7 c' v( g: q' i5 w
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies) p; R% g! H& t5 E
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
) y+ N U, z% i * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment1 x- q3 m! w7 O7 |

Qualifications

5 Z# ^6 Q4 s* D# Q; V * Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred6 O9 ? ^7 Z7 E" Q( f
* Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required1 {% t3 w* y; `4 q5 e
