Duties3 `+ T+ l k% n& x) `& A( U
! o, M" J$ F `% C# M( U * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
4 u0 l* A# h+ D# i" t* T * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis8 O. {7 Q$ m. K* A! E
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
7 V& c" Y+ ~& C * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 0 R, O% B# i6 y8 A3 _9 i
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
# T9 Q, P4 G7 t7 b; h) D' O, j * Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs- o0 x. a& U. ?/ m9 Q6 f+ a# J
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment6 a3 [- l* b6 w: a3 x6 b
