! L% L$ W. Z3 S: }. P * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
+ s( c5 @" e. M+ ~$ X* N * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
7 Y0 [8 L- R6 ~" u M" | * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
' v( H" L3 @1 w4 O * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 2 ]3 g4 X* s5 Q/ E5 F4 c3 i* T& o
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
