0 L$ d# G- B% O0 c * Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications% z$ i7 y% W% q1 j0 _
* Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
x$ P. b; X1 v: K; |3 q * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance" o4 g& T2 [4 c h2 Q
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students , w- g4 Y) C) s% R' X+ Y1 u8 n
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies; Q' [9 }; F$ T& I
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs/ O2 L9 w& r, x/ R8 F
* Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment
