　　原因是：

# n; y# h; u8 c6 a% {5 U- x　　“self-inflicted” has the connotation of creating theunnecessarypain for one self.

　　折腾 in Hu"s speech has a strong connotation that such kindofsetback is self-seeking instead of being due to theinterferencefrom outside.

　　“Setback” is a much better word than “trouble”, whichanunseasoned translator would like to use in the firstinstance.“Setback” especially refers to the obstacle ordifficultyencountered in achieving a strategic goal.
