加拿大癌症防治科学院说，阿尔伯达政府正在采取降低烟草税的政策，这说明该省实施的削减烟草使用的举措发挥了积极作用。最近的刚更新的财政数据表明烟草税下降了6%，相当于5000万加币。
   加拿大癌症防治研究院的Angeline Webb说，烟草削减法案不允许在所有的公共场所和工作地点吸烟，这一法案的切实执行取得了令人满意的效果。

The Alberta government, already suffering from declining oil revenue, is now facing a dip in tobacco revenue.

$ k" S% V/ g7 E1 m7 T  tAngeline Webb, a Cancer Control Analyst for the Canadian Cancer Society, says "it appears that the Tobacco Reduction Act is having the desired effect."

Meanwhile the final phase of the Act goes into effect on January 1st.
