Duties

# }, G8 H! c# k1 o$ D+ b0 f * Develops,coordinates, and facilitates the Institute for Sexual Minority Studies and Services (iSMSS), Camp fYrefly sexual minority youth outreach program- X6 D0 T: q6 K& o, m
* Coordinates Camp fYrefly's year-round educational programming, peer leadership training,and youth mentoring activities- }& U' ^2 s! g7 w3 p3 M6 k
* Coordinates, develops and oversees the camp application, recruitment, and selection processes m- \( H( j! z" p
* Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers who support the delivery of Camp fYrefly's annual summer youth leadership retreat- v R4 h: `$ n: n/ N
* Develops and solicits appropriate workshop and educational programming in consultation with a youth advisory committee and community stakeholders
- i( P2 b) h7 ^) N- ]% F* V) v1 v * Liaises with the Assistant Director to set appropriate work priorities, action plans,and volunteer and program resource requirements: ?/ _2 U- B' |; c/ z0 ~
* Works with the Assistant Director to plan, deliver and evaluate fundraising activities and donor recognition programs U" e) C. B5 v& k P @- q4 c. [
* Provides a year-end activities report and program evaluation to the Assistant Director% \/ T' G3 E% D8 u
* Serves as a resource person and liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning! F6 Q$ S8 ]; H g0 M
* Develops high quality promotional and educational materials
0 h) A) a* h% n6 a* O/ O/ m7 f/ B0 s * Develops and maintains relationships with local and national press and other relevant media
0 M! L* P' `( Q& @; g( [ * Creates and delivers community-based presentations on camp-related research and evaluation results

D& `5 R& p$ Y" u- I# @2 p3 `& t2 r! Y* w2 Q* \1 A
* Post Secondary diploma in a related discipline such as education, human services, community development or social sciences; Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline preferred
; `1 ~2 B6 w9 Q/ l' k/ m * Three to five years background experience in youth programming and/or community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
# t4 D" x! i% t% H& n0 J. w * Experience working with Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset0 F; ]! G! V9 F
* Knowledge of violence and bullying prevention, harm reduction, and youth advocacy strategies6 t! d" p: t# ^ [! f
* Demonstrated experience in the development of youth educational programming, community outreach, and conflict resolution skills# \6 r7 B0 {( x3 Q: g
* Knowledge and experience in fund development, volunteer management, proposal writing, and special event planning Q1 h$ O7 n# R' B& U
* Demonstrated skills in program/donor communication, development of information, education and communication material (including web-based documentation)
