% a( k/ t3 q( `( S    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
5 _- t  M7 Y% A$ y0 J, A    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
6 O9 c3 m& f1 _# w* s* V    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
( B- @* t' Q, b$ E' O& N8 @    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
; S  `! c; H+ U  A2 J    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
9 r# j2 h' w' K+ Q, e2 }3 x2 e$ ^$ D    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs
2 L# f  r. O5 W' w" S5 B    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly
& o, [2 d' l& V; o    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
1 Q/ t$ m& F9 _    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

2 p1 A" D( {9 S4 ~! H6 v) [) p
: ]+ z4 J& O, V    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
: C4 P& G/ d& G+ A' G    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
9 A& B4 e# e9 v3 Q    * Fundraising skills an asset
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
1 p* A% a2 E6 r( r( i8 _    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills
- O! Q& c8 K% h    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
