3 p+ I- s5 m2 l1 |- B    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region/ i( J9 t5 @$ R2 G9 e# j
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group; `/ E) f; M' M( t& k. y6 j, Y
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators0 }7 q' b5 q2 p+ R
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
$ A8 b, A, y7 f9 `, T# D    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
% S2 l4 o1 h0 j3 f( O& n% W    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
) ]9 w: T# |" y# @+ p* `. B    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
& Y+ ^) u, O8 \8 f0 O  G- ]    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program1 r- b4 v' _+ E, X
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
* J' Z. n0 Z1 J" _7 F( l. ^2 J    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
! Y- \3 y% f/ f% u7 v9 f+ \    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

2 l" ~" f' E& n# c8 n    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities4 @. D3 o' u9 o$ m2 q) d9 B& V% I. T
    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

* O1 v" m5 }# XQualifications
# @) Q* `: h6 L( @* P7 ?3 d! t% O( z9 D+ Q' }
    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
4 f6 {+ P% T* h    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
% M7 l2 c  F0 g3 a, _& U    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies& F' x8 R5 s  {7 X. [* S
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs5 g% J1 B  h! j8 e1 d# f
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
  X' j9 n2 H4 O& o' i    * Fundraising skills an asset7 {7 h' T+ F! u
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
  a% L4 y7 q/ y0 K    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills
( G: q0 q( E* l* Y    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
