% a( k/ t3 q( `( S * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region, {7 L5 w* e3 W% w; `" X, s0 [9 p
* Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group
5 _- t M7 Y% A$ y0 J, A * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators2 u& S# e; B( S; e& l5 S* e0 R$ B; ?
* Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations4 S# J0 a4 x `$ A! W" R8 t t2 Q
* Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director
6 O9 c3 m& f1 _# w* s* V * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
( B- @* t' Q, b$ E' O& N8 @ * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
; S `! c; H+ U A2 J * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program

* Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports& [; y$ {6 s- Z
* Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

: ]+ z4 J& O, V * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
: C4 P& G/ d& G+ A' G * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth. q! h- j4 a' U W% ?
* Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies, H* z* m& }' O2 h: d9 }. z# o
* Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs' r4 o) ?: ]2 c. E
* Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
9 A& B4 e# e9 v3 Q * Fundraising skills an asset- |" ?. H+ Q; ]
* Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
