: \6 H; u1 L" E" d    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region
! I; D: W/ a# v/ g5 b! E; ^    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group- ?2 K/ q0 n4 t- u
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators. A6 n( Y* m6 ~: |: s) s3 G1 x6 q
    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations& g# o* |0 x$ P
    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director4 s( c8 ]2 {8 E& a, ?' H$ A
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses, M9 U; n8 k4 i+ X# V# G' I+ j. \
    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth# B. @3 n. Q* X3 W& ]
    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program- [3 C, ^. E, Y4 r$ j5 i7 v/ [- y
    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment
) z1 u" G: T! s3 |9 g2 t) k) u    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
) R) F4 i  S4 I# q% X    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs" h* y+ u7 y( M4 O7 w
    * Participates in the development of leadership training and educational programming at Camp fYrefly2 e1 J' q3 q8 M# Q+ Q2 b  v
    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities

    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline4 y  A- j$ T0 {: `, o9 M
    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
+ l% Z8 I" ?) K% v    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies" D/ M4 F, Q& n" |6 w
    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs4 K) H" n  G9 _$ V/ ]
    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community
. r* `4 v+ H4 e5 N% f5 z1 }    * Fundraising skills an asset: I7 I* P) B1 S% ]' k
    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills
* p6 |: [- s) i- W- v5 j6 Z    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills6 m+ }' H. w( B( E3 _8 p! h. |/ _
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills
3 k6 ?6 q- }; A9 x; }' j3 K    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills- l. D6 t( |7 B/ N
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
